Piratas FC delivered one of the most emphatic performances of their Mexico Ascenso MX campaign on October 4, 2026, dismantling Alebrijes de Oaxaca 4-0 at Estadio Pirata. The home side were sharper from the first whistle and never allowed their visitors to settle, turning a tightly contested opening into a one-sided rout by the final half-hour.

Match Overview

Piratas FC set the tone with aggressive pressing and quick transitions, forcing Alebrijes de Oaxaca into a series of hurried clearances. The breakthrough arrived in the 12th minute when Kevin Álvarez latched onto a loose ball at the edge of the box and drilled a low shot into the bottom corner. The second goal followed in the 34th minute, again through Álvarez, who finished calmly after a slick exchange down the right flank. By halftime, the hosts led 2-0 and had already registered six shots on target.

The second half was even more lopsided. Julio César Ramírez added a third in the 58th minute with a header from a corner, and Diego Hernández completed the scoring in the 81st minute, finishing a counterattack that began deep in Piratas territory. Alebrijes, who had brief spells of possession, were limited to long-range efforts and never truly tested the home goalkeeper.

Key Moments

• 12' — Kevin Álvarez opens the scoring with a low finish after a turnover in midfield.
• 34' — Álvarez doubles the lead, converting a well-worked move on the right.
• 58' — Julio César Ramírez heads home a corner to make it 3-0.
• 81' — Diego Hernández caps a rapid counterattack with the fourth goal.
• 90+2' — Alebrijes' best chance of the night drifts wide from outside the box.

Tactical Story

Piratas FC lined up in a flexible 4-2-3-1 that became a 4-4-2 out of possession, with the front two cutting off central passing lanes. That structure forced Alebrijes de Oaxaca to play wide, where the home full-backs pressed aggressively and won the ball back high. The visitors attempted to build through their midfield but were repeatedly outnumbered, leading to a disjointed attacking display.

Alebrijes switched to a back three after the second goal, hoping to gain a numerical advantage in buildup, but the change only created more space for Piratas to exploit on the break. The fourth goal was a perfect example: a turnover near midfield, two quick passes, and a composed finish. It was a clinical, mature performance from a team that looks increasingly comfortable in the Ascenso MX playoff race.

Standout Players

Kevin Álvarez was the clear man of the match, scoring twice and constantly stretching the Oaxaca defense with his movement. Julio César Ramírez controlled the midfield tempo and added a goal, while Diego Hernández's late strike capped a lively substitute appearance. For Alebrijes, goalkeeper Óscar Ustari made several saves to keep the score from becoming even more lopsided, but he received little protection from his back line.

Table and Season Impact

The 4-0 win strengthens Piratas FC's position in the upper half of the Mexico Ascenso MX standings, adding a significant goal-difference boost that could prove valuable in the race for a top-four finish. Alebrijes de Oaxaca, meanwhile, remain in search of consistency and will need to address their defensive shape before their next fixture. For Piratas, the result is a statement of intent: on this form, they are a side capable of challenging for promotion.
