Tactical story

Cancún’s early control came from a high pressing approach that disrupted Venados’s attempts to play out from the back. The home side used quick combinations in central areas and looked dangerous whenever Mauro Pérez dropped between the lines. However, Cancún’s intensity dropped after the break, allowing Venados to gain a foothold.

Venados adjusted by stretching the pitch and delivering more crosses into the box. The equalizer came from that approach, and the visitors finished the match looking the more likely side to score again. Cancún’s defense held firm under late pressure, but the home side will regret not managing the game better after taking the lead.
