KAC de Kenitra Grind Out 1-0 Victory Over Jeunesse Sportive Massira

KAC de Kenitra earned a battling 1-0 win against Jeunesse Sportive Massira on 17 October 2026, with a second-half goal settling a physical Morocco Botola 2 encounter. The match was not short of commitment or intensity, but clear chances were limited until Kenitra found the breakthrough in the final third.

Massira defended stubbornly and looked dangerous on the counter, but Kenitra’s patience and set-piece threat eventually paid off. The three points strengthen Kenitra’s position in the league and give them another important result in what is shaping up to be a tightly contested promotion race.

Match Overview

The first half was a midfield battle, with both sides pressing aggressively and giving away little space. Kenitra tried to build through the flanks, while Massira sat compact and looked to launch quick breaks. Neither goalkeeper was seriously tested in the opening 45 minutes, and the teams went in level at the break.

Kenitra raised the tempo after half-time and began to win more second balls in midfield. The decisive moment came in the 74th minute, when a well-delivered cross found Youssef El Idrissi in the box. Massira pushed forward in response, but Kenitra’s defence stayed organised and saw out the closing stages without panic.

Key Moments

• 19th minute: Kenitra’s first meaningful attack ended with a shot from distance that went just wide.
• 41st minute: Massira nearly caught Kenitra on the break, but the final pass was too heavy.
• 74th minute: Youssef El Idrissi scored the only goal, heading home from a right-wing cross.
• 82nd minute: Massira forced a corner and sent a header over the bar.
• 90th minute: Kenitra goalkeeper Hamza Ait Bihi claimed a dangerous cross to secure the clean sheet.

Tactical Story

Kenitra’s game plan revolved around control and patience. They circulated the ball carefully, looking to draw Massira out of their defensive shape before attacking the space behind. The home side also targeted set pieces, recognising that clear chances from open play would be hard to come by against a well-drilled opponent.

Massira’s defensive discipline was impressive for long periods, but they struggled to maintain possession when they won the ball back. That allowed Kenitra to sustain pressure in the second half, and the breakthrough finally came from a wide delivery. After taking the lead, Kenitra managed the game intelligently, dropping deeper and protecting the central corridor.

Standout Players

Youssef El Idrissi was the match-winner with a composed header, and his movement in the box was a constant problem for Massira. Hamza Ait Bihi made a crucial late claim to preserve the clean sheet, while Kenitra’s captain and centre-back organised the back line well under late pressure. Massira’s goalkeeper kept the scoreline respectable with two important saves.

What It Means

The victory keeps Kenitra in the hunt at the top end of Botola 2 and highlights their ability to win tight matches. In a league where fine margins often decide promotion, results like this can be worth more than a stylish performance. Massira will take encouragement from their defensive organisation but need to find more cutting edge in the final third.
