Olympique Dcheira produced a statement away performance to beat Jeunesse Sportive Soualem 4-1 in Morocco Botola 2 on Sunday night, turning a promising start into a comprehensive victory. Dcheira’s pressing, movement and ruthlessness in front of goal overwhelmed Soualem, who were left to rue a series of defensive errors.

Match overview

Dcheira set the tone from the opening minutes, pressing Soualem’s back line and forcing turnovers in dangerous areas. Soualem struggled to play through the first line of pressure, and the visitors capitalised by scoring early. The pattern continued for much of the first half, with Dcheira looking sharper in transition and more decisive inside the penalty area.

• Full-time: Jeunesse Sportive Soualem 1-4 Olympique Dcheira
• Competition: Morocco Botola 2
• Key statistic: Dcheira scored four goals from a controlled but clinical attacking display

Key moments

Dcheira took the lead inside the first ten minutes when a loose pass in Soualem’s midfield was punished with a quick forward pass and a composed finish. The lead doubled before the half-hour mark after another turnover, this time finished off with a low strike from the edge of the box. Soualem briefly threatened a comeback early in the second half, pulling one back with a well-worked move down the right.

Any hopes of a revival were short-lived. Dcheira restored their two-goal cushion with a counter-attacking goal in the 72nd minute, and a late fourth capped a dominant evening. Soualem’s defenders were left exposed repeatedly as they pushed forward in search of a route back into the game.

Tactical story

Dcheira’s success came from an aggressive 4-3-3 press and quick vertical passing. They did not need long spells of possession to create chances; instead, they focused on winning the ball in midfield and attacking the space behind Soualem’s full-backs. Soualem’s build-up was too slow, and their midfield was often caught too far from the defensive line.

When Soualem did get forward, they looked dangerous in wide areas, but their finishing lacked composure. Dcheira’s goalkeeper made one important save at 2-0 and another shortly after Soualem’s goal, and those stops proved crucial in killing the home side’s momentum.

Standout performers

Dcheira’s forward Oussama El Ghazali was the standout, scoring twice and constantly unsettling Soualem’s centre-backs with his movement. The Dcheira midfield trio also deserve credit for controlling the game’s rhythm and winning the majority of second balls. For Soualem, the right-sided attacker was their most positive outlet and provided the assist for their only goal.

What the result means

The win gives Olympique Dcheira a significant confidence boost and strengthens their position in the Morocco Botola 2 standings. For Jeunesse Sportive Soualem, the defeat is a warning sign: their defensive structure must improve quickly if they are to avoid being dragged into a relegation fight. Dcheira’s four-goal display will also serve notice to the rest of the division that they are capable of punishing any lapse in concentration.
