Tactical Story

Staf USM set up to disrupt Perak's rhythm, using a compact midfield and quick counters. Their front two worked tirelessly, and the wide players tracked back to support the full-backs. Perak dominated possession but struggled to break down the home side's low block until the late stages.

Perak's manager made attacking substitutions in the second half, pushing an extra body into the box. The move paid off with the late equalizer, though Perak will feel they should have converted more of their chances. Staf USM defended with commitment but were left to rue not holding onto their second lead.

Standout Performers

Faiz Azman and Haziq Rahman were Staf USM's best players, combining energy with end product. Perak's Firdaus Ismail was a constant threat in the air, while Syafiq Alias showed composure for the late equalizer. Staf USM goalkeeper Amirul Hakim made two important saves in the second half.

What It Means

The draw keeps Perak in the hunt for a promotion playoff place in the Malaysia A1 Semi-Pro League, though they lose ground on the teams above. Staf USM add a valuable point to their mid-table campaign and prove they can compete with stronger opponents. Both sides will take confidence from the attacking display, but the defensive errors will be reviewed.
