UNA Strassen secured a professional 2-0 away win at FC Wiltz 71 in the Luxembourg National Division on 11 October 2026. A goal in each half, combined with a disciplined defensive display, gave Strassen a comfortable victory and extended Wiltz’s frustrating run in front of goal.

Match Overview

FC Wiltz 71 began with energy and looked to press high, but UNA Strassen absorbed the early pressure and gradually took control. The visitors scored midway through the first half and never looked back, adding a second after the break to kill the game. Wiltz huffed and puffed in search of a route back into the match, but a combination of wayward finishing and stubborn defending kept them off the scoresheet.

Key Moments

• 27th minute: UNA Strassen opened the scoring when Ruben Martins played a one-two on the edge of the box and slotted a low shot beyond the goalkeeper.
• 52nd minute: Wiltz’s best chance arrived from a corner, but the header flashed just wide of the post.
• 73rd minute: Strassen doubled their lead through Noah Kayser, who arrived late in the box to convert a precise cut-back.
• 88th minute: Wiltz pushed bodies forward but Strassen’s goalkeeper stood firm, claiming a dangerous cross to snuff out the last meaningful attack.

Tactical Story

UNA Strassen lined up with a compact 4-1-4-1 shape, using their defensive midfielder to screen the space in front of the back four. That made it difficult for Wiltz to find central pockets, forcing them into wide deliveries that Strassen’s centre-backs dealt with comfortably. Going forward, Strassen were patient, circulating the ball before accelerating through the half-spaces.

FC Wiltz 71 tried to change the game with substitutions and a more direct approach, but the final pass repeatedly let them down. Strassen’s second goal came from a classic transition: a turnover in midfield, a quick pass into the channel, and a composed pull-back. From there, the visitors managed the game with maturity, slowing the tempo and protecting their clean sheet.

Standout Players

Ruben Martins was influential in the attacking third, not only for his goal but also for his link-up play. Noah Kayser provided the killer second goal, and Strassen’s goalkeeper was reliable when called upon. For FC Wiltz 71, the central defenders battled hard, but the team lacked a cutting edge in the final third.

Season Impact

UNA Strassen’s three points strengthen their position and give them a platform to build on in the coming weeks. FC Wiltz 71 remain in need of a spark, particularly at home, where they have struggled to convert possession into goals. The National Division table remains congested, making every away win as valuable as a home victory.
