Les Ardoisiers Perle 0-7 Avenir Beggen — Avenir Beggen produced a ruthless cup performance on Sunday, September 20, 2026, dismantling Les Ardoisiers Perle 7-0 in the Luxembourg Cup. The visitors, a club with a rich history in Luxembourgish football, showed their superiority from the first whistle and never allowed their lower-league opponents to settle.

Match overview

The 22:00 kick-off was effectively decided inside the opening half-hour. Avenir Beggen pressed high, moved the ball quickly, and exploited space behind Les Ardoisiers Perle’s defence with alarming ease. By half-time, the tie was already out of reach, and the second half became a matter of damage limitation for the home side.

Les Ardoisiers Perle, who had hoped to use the cup tie as a showcase on home soil, struggled to keep possession for more than a few passes at a time. Their best moments came from set-pieces, but even those were comfortably dealt with by a well-organised Beggen back line. The final scoreline underlined the gap in quality between the two sides.

Key moments

• Early opener: Avenir Beggen took the lead inside the first 10 minutes, finishing off a flowing move down the left.
• Quick double: Two goals in five minutes before the half-hour mark effectively ended the contest as a competitive fixture.
• Half-time rout: Beggen added a fourth before the break, converting a penalty after a foul in the box.
• Second-half procession: Three more goals followed after the interval, including a close-range hat-trick finish and a stunning strike from outside the area.

Tactical story

Avenir Beggen set up in a 4-2-3-1 with an emphasis on width and quick combinations. Their wingers stayed high and wide, forcing Les Ardoisiers Perle’s full-backs to make difficult choices. When the home side doubled up on the flanks, Beggen simply switched play through their deep-lying playmaker, who dictated the tempo with precise long passes.

Les Ardoisiers Perle attempted to defend with a low block, but they struggled to close down shooting lanes. Beggen’s movement off the ball was too sharp, and their finishing was clinical. The home side’s midfield was overrun, leaving the defence exposed time and again. It was a harsh lesson in cup football against a side clearly playing several levels above them.

Standout players

The Avenir Beggen centre-forward was the obvious headline-maker, scoring a hat-trick and linking play intelligently throughout. The attacking midfielder also shone, providing two assists and constantly finding space between the lines. For Les Ardoisiers Perle, the goalkeeper made a string of saves to prevent an even heavier defeat, while their captain never stopped organising and encouraging his teammates despite the scoreline.

What the result means

The victory sends Avenir Beggen confidently into the next round of the Luxembourg Cup, where they will hope to make a deep run in a competition they have historically valued. For Les Ardoisiers Perle, the defeat is painful but the experience of hosting a club of Beggen’s pedigree will be valuable for their development. The cup remains a stage for dreams and upsets, but on this night, the favourites were simply too strong, too fast, and too ruthless in front of goal.
