Victoria Rosport booked their place in the next round of the Luxembourg Cup with a composed 3-1 away victory over CS Sanem. The match, played under the lights on 20 September 2026, saw Rosport control long spells and punish their hosts with a clinical second-half display.

Match overview

CS Sanem started with energy and looked to press high, but Victoria Rosport soon settled into a rhythm. The visitors moved the ball quickly through midfield and created the clearer chances, taking the lead before Sanem responded with a determined spell of their own. The equaliser briefly lifted the home crowd, yet Rosport restored their advantage before the break and managed the game well after the interval.

Key moments

• Opening goal: Victoria Rosport struck first after a flowing move down the right, finished calmly inside the penalty area.
• Sanem response: CS Sanem equalised with a well-worked set piece, giving the home side hope.
• Second Rosport goal: A quick turnover in midfield allowed Rosport to retake the lead before half-time.
• Late clincher: Rosport sealed the tie in the second half, finishing a counter-attack with precision.

Tactical story

Sanem defended in a compact block and tried to spring forward on the break, but Rosport’s patience in possession proved decisive. The visitors switched play effectively and found space between the lines, forcing Sanem into increasingly deep positions. Once Rosport scored their third, they slowed the tempo and protected their lead with mature game management.

Standout performers and cup impact

Victoria Rosport’s attacking unit deserved credit for sharing the goalscoring burden, while their midfield screened the defence intelligently in the closing stages. CS Sanem can take encouragement from their fighting display, but the result sends Rosport into the next round with momentum. For a cup competition where one-off ties can turn quickly, this was a professional away performance from start to finish.
