SSG FA Siauliai (w) and FK Banga Women shared the spoils in a 1-1 draw in the Lithuanian Women's A Lyga on 22 October 2026, a result that reflected a competitive contest in which both sides enjoyed spells of superiority.

Match Overview

The two Lithuanian top-flight sides traded a goal apiece in a match that was closely fought from the first whistle. Siauliai, playing at home, looked to impose themselves early with quick wing play, while Banga Women offered a disciplined structure and a threat on the counter-attack.

With a point apiece, neither side could claim full command of the encounter, but both contributed to an entertaining league fixture.

Key Moments

• Opening goal: Siauliai broke the deadlock in the first half, capitalising on space down the flank to take the lead.
• Banga response: The equaliser arrived as Banga Women grew into the game, punishing a lapse in concentration.
• Second-half chances: Both sides created openings as the match opened up, but neither could find a decisive finish.
• Late defending: Both back lines held firm in the closing stages to protect a point apiece.

Tactical Story

Siauliai's approach relied on width. Their full-backs pushed high and their wingers looked to isolate defenders, and that pattern produced the opening goal. However, the hosts were vulnerable when possession was turned over, and Banga Women exploited that with a well-timed equaliser.

Banga's midfield sat deep and looked to spring forward on the break, and their organisation frustrated Siauliai for long stretches of the second half. Neither side managed to impose total control as the match progressed.

Standout Performers

The goalscorers on both sides will take confidence from their contributions, while the two goalkeepers produced important saves to keep the scoreline level. In midfield, Banga Women's energetic pressing stood out, and Siauliai's wide players remained their team's most consistent attacking outlet.

League Context

In the Lithuanian Women's A Lyga, every point matters, and both sides will view this as a missed opportunity to climb the table. Siauliai will feel they had the better of the first half, while Banga Women can take heart from a solid away performance against one of the division's established names.

Fixtures between these clubs have tended to be tight, and this draw adds another closely matched chapter. Both teams now prepare for their next league outings with the standings still finely poised.
