Orense SC secured a convincing 4-0 victory over Delfin SC in the LigaPro Serie A, delivering one of their most complete home performances of the campaign. The hosts combined aggressive pressing with sharp finishing, scoring twice in each half to pull clear of a Delfin side that struggled to cope with the pace of the game.

Match overview

Orense set the tempo from the opening minutes, pressing Delfin’s back line and forcing turnovers in dangerous areas. The home midfield controlled the rhythm, switching play quickly and finding space between Delfin’s defensive and midfield lines. Delfin tried to respond through direct balls into the channels, but Orense’s centre-backs dealt well with the aerial threat and won most of the second balls.

As the match wore on, Delfin’s shape became stretched. Orense’s full-backs pushed higher, the forwards made runs behind the defence, and the home side created a steady stream of chances. The fourth goal late in the second half capped a performance that was as much about control as it was about finishing.

Key moments

• 9th minute: Orense took the lead through Bryan Viñán, who finished first-time after a low cross from the right.
• 34th minute: Jordy Rezabala doubled the advantage with a composed finish from the edge of the penalty area.
• 52nd minute: Viñán scored his second, heading home from a well-delivered corner.
• 78th minute: Substitute Esteban Dávila completed the scoring with a breakaway goal after Delfin lost possession in midfield.

Tactical story

Orense’s 4-2-3-1 shape gave them numerical control in central areas, with the two holding midfielders screening the defence and allowing the attacking midfielders to drift into pockets of space. The home side’s pressing was coordinated rather than reckless: the front line curved their runs to block passing lanes, while the midfield stepped up to compress the space ahead of Delfin’s ball-carriers.

Delfin’s attempts to play out from the back repeatedly broke down under pressure. When they went long, Orense’s defenders were usually first to the ball, and the second-ball battle was dominated by the hosts. Delfin’s best moments came from set pieces and isolated counter-attacks, but they lacked the sustained possession needed to trouble Orense’s goalkeeper.

Standout players

Viñán was the obvious match-winner with two goals and a constant threat in behind. Rezabala dictated the tempo in midfield, combining tidy passing with late runs into the box, while the Orense captain organised the back line and ensured the clean sheet. Dávila’s impact from the bench underlined the depth available to the home side.

For Delfin, the goalkeeper made several saves to prevent an even heavier defeat, and the midfield worked hard without the ball. However, the away side’s attacking players were too isolated, and their inability to hold possession meant the defence was under almost constant pressure.

Season impact

The three points lift Orense’s confidence and strengthen their position in the LigaPro Serie A table, while the margin of victory gives them a useful goal-difference boost. Delfin, meanwhile, will need to address their defensive shape and ball retention before the next round. Orense’s home form is becoming a major asset, and this performance will be remembered as a benchmark for their season.
