The win cements Sevilla’s reputation as one of the most dangerous attacking sides in the league, while Costa Adeje Tenerife are left to rue a promising start that ultimately slipped away.

Played in front of a passionate home crowd, the match showcased the growing quality and competitiveness of women’s football in Spain. Sevilla’s clinical finishing and tactical flexibility proved too much for a Tenerife side that battled bravely but could not match their opponent’s intensity for the full 90 minutes.

Match Overview

The game began at a frantic pace, with both teams eager to assert themselves. Costa Adeje Tenerife started brightly, pressing high and forcing Sevilla into a couple of early errors. Their reward came in the 18th minute when a well-worked move down the left ended with a low cross that was turned in at the near post, sending the home supporters into raptures.

Tactical Story

Costa Adeje Tenerife set up in a 4-2-3-1, hoping to use their pace on the wings to hurt Sevilla on the break. However, once Sevilla adjusted their shape and began to dominate possession, the home side struggled to retain the ball and were pinned back.

Sevilla FC Women lined up in a 4-3-3 and gradually imposed their will on the game. Their midfield three overwhelmed Tenerife’s double pivot, creating space for the full-backs to push forward and deliver crosses. The introduction of fresh legs in the second half added further impetus, and Sevilla’s superior fitness and technical quality told in the end.

Standout Performers

Sevilla’s attacking trio were relentless, with the striker scoring twice and the attacking midfielder dictating play with her vision and passing range. The player who scored the long-range stunner was undoubtedly the highlight of the match. For Costa Adeje Tenerife, their left winger was a constant threat in the first half, and their goalkeeper made several fine saves to keep the scoreline respectable.

League Impact

This victory strengthens Sevilla FC Women’s position in the upper reaches of the Liga F table, sending a clear message to their rivals. For Costa Adeje Tenerife, the defeat highlights the gap that still exists between the league’s top teams and the rest, but their first-half display showed they can compete. The result leaves both teams with plenty to ponder as the season unfolds.
