Athletic Club Women and Sevilla FC Women played out a 0-0 draw in the Spanish Primera División de la Liga de Fútbol Femenino on Saturday, 24 October 2026, with both defences and goalkeepers standing firm in a tense, tactical encounter.

Match overview

Both sides showed attacking intent in spells, but clear openings were rare. Athletic Club Women pressed aggressively and tried to use the width of the pitch, while Sevilla FC Women defended in a compact block and looked to counter through quick transitions. The game became a battle of patience, with the final pass letting both teams down in the decisive moments.

Key moments

• Athletic’s best first-half opportunity came from a corner, but the header was cleared off the line.
• Sevilla forced a strong save from the home goalkeeper after a rare break through the middle.
• The second half opened up slightly, with both sides pushing more players forward.
• Late pressure from Athletic did not produce a winner, as Sevilla’s defence held firm.

Tactical story

Athletic Club Women dominated possession but found it difficult to penetrate Sevilla’s disciplined defensive structure. Sevilla’s midfielders screened the back line effectively and forced Athletic into crosses that were well defended. The visitors also carried a threat on the break, though their final decision-making in the attacking third was inconsistent.

Standout performers

Both goalkeepers deserve credit for maintaining concentration throughout a match with long spells of tactical play. Athletic’s central defenders were assured in possession and aggressive in recovery, while Sevilla’s defensive unit communicated well and dealt with sustained pressure in the closing stages.

Season impact

A point apiece keeps both teams moving in Liga F, though Athletic Club Women may feel they left two points behind. Sevilla FC Women will take confidence from a clean sheet away from home. In a league where consistency is crucial, this draw underlines how competitive the mid-table and upper-table battles are becoming.
