Riyadi Abbasiya 1-2 Jwayya — Jwayya edged a competitive Lebanese Premier League encounter at the Riyadi Abbasiya Stadium, coming from a goal down to claim a 2-1 away victory. It was a result built on resilience and a strong second-half response, with the visitors turning a difficult opening period into three valuable points.

Match overview

Riyadi Abbasiya started brightly, pressing high and finding space between the lines. Their reward came midway through the first half when a well-worked move ended with a finish from inside the box, sending the home support into hopeful mood. The lead, however, did not last. Jwayya gradually settled into the contest, tightened their midfield and began to find joy down the flanks.

The equaliser arrived before the break, a goal that changed the momentum entirely. From that point on, Jwayya looked the more composed side, stringing passes together and forcing Riyadi Abbasiya to defend deeper. The winner came in the second half, a reward for sustained pressure and a moment of quality in the final third.

Key moments

• Riyadi Abbasiya opener: A patient build-up and a composed finish gave the hosts an early advantage.
• Jwayya equaliser: A cross into the box was converted to level the scores before half-time.
• Jwayya winner: Persistent pressure after the restart produced the decisive goal, completed with a neat finish.
• Late pressure: Riyadi Abbasiya pushed bodies forward in the closing stages but could not find a second equaliser.

Tactical story

Jwayya's turnaround was built on a subtle shift in shape after conceding, pushing their wide players higher and using the midfield to win second balls. That adjustment allowed them to sustain attacks and force Riyadi Abbasiya into repeated defensive transitions. The visitors also defended their penalty area well in the final twenty minutes, clearing crosses with authority and slowing the tempo when needed.

Riyadi Abbasiya will feel they let the game slip, particularly given the encouraging start. Their build-up play was neat but lacked penetration once Jwayya compacted the central spaces, and the home side's final ball was too often hurried as the clock ran down.

Standout performers

Jwayya's midfield anchor was influential in the comeback, breaking up play and recycling possession intelligently. The goalscorers deserve credit for their composure in crucial moments, while the goalkeeper produced a key save late on to protect the lead. For Riyadi Abbasiya, the attacking midfielder was the brightest spark, constantly probing and creating the opening goal.

League impact

The win gives Jwayya momentum and underlines their ability to grind out results on the road in the Lebanese Premier League. For Riyadi Abbasiya, the defeat is a reminder that control without cutting edge is rarely enough, and the coaching staff will focus on game management as they prepare for the next round of fixtures.
