FS Metta (W) 0-4 FK Riga Women — FK Riga Women delivered a ruthless away performance in the Latvian Women’s League, dismantling FS Metta (W) 4-0 on 30 September 2026. The visitors were clinical in front of goal and controlled the contest from start to finish, leaving Metta with few answers.

Riga’s Four-Star Show

FK Riga wasted little time asserting their authority, scoring inside the opening 20 minutes and doubling their lead before the interval. The goals came from a mix of sharp build-up play and individual brilliance, with Metta’s defence unable to cope with the pace and movement of Riga’s forward line. By the time the fourth goal went in, the result was beyond doubt.

Key Moments

• Opening goal: A slick passing move cut through the Metta midfield, ending with a cool finish into the bottom corner.
• Second before half-time: A defensive mix-up allowed Riga’s striker to pounce and double the advantage.
• Third goal: A stunning free-kick from the edge of the box left the goalkeeper with no chance.
• Fourth goal: A late counter-attack was finished with composure, capping a dominant team performance.

Tactical Breakdown

Riga set up in a fluid 4-2-3-1 that overwhelmed Metta’s midfield. The double pivot screened the defence effectively while allowing the full-backs to push high and provide width. Metta struggled to maintain possession, often forced into long balls that were easily dealt with by Riga’s centre-backs. When Metta did venture forward, they were met with a well-organised defensive block that quickly turned defence into attack.

Standout Performers

FK Riga’s striker was the star of the show, scoring twice and leading the line with intelligence. The attacking midfielder pulled the strings, creating chances and dictating the tempo. For FS Metta, the goalkeeper made several stops to prevent an even heavier defeat, but the team’s outfield players struggled to match Riga’s intensity and precision.

League Implications

This emphatic win strengthens FK Riga Women’s position in the Latvian Women’s League standings, boosting their goal difference and confidence. FS Metta (W) remain with work to do, and this result highlights the gap between the league’s top sides and the chasing pack. Riga’s title credentials look increasingly credible, while Metta must regroup quickly to avoid slipping further.

Up Next

FK Riga will aim to build on this convincing victory as they continue their campaign. FS Metta (W) face a crucial stretch of fixtures where they must find a way to tighten up defensively and rediscover their attacking spark.
