FK Valmiera produced a commanding away performance at the Ventspils Olimpiskais Stadions, defeating JFK Ventspils 2–0 to strengthen their push for promotion in the Latvian 1.Liga. Valmiera controlled proceedings from start to finish, earning a deserved victory through goals in each half.

First Half Dominance

Valmiera took the lead in the 31st minute when striker Arturs Zjuzins latched onto a through ball and fired past the helpless Ventspils goalkeeper. The visitors could have added more before the break, but wasteful finishing kept the score at 1–0.

Second Half Sealer

The second half followed a similar pattern. Valmiera doubled their advantage in the 63rd minute through midfielder Rihards Butriks, who finished a well-worked team move from the edge of the box. Ventspils offered little in attack, managing only a single shot on target throughout the match.
