Al-Qadasiya Youth 1-3 Al-Fayha Youth: Away side’s composure secures Saudi Youth League victory

Al-Fayha Youth claimed an impressive 3-1 away win over Al-Qadasiya Youth in the Saudi Arabia Youth League on Saturday, 17 October 2026, with a performance built on patience, pressing and clinical finishing. In a 20:05 kick-off, the visitors recovered from conceding an equaliser to regain control before half-time and then sealed the result with a late third goal on the counter-attack.

Al-Fayha started brightly and took the lead inside the opening period after a sustained spell of possession. Al-Qadasiya responded with purpose, levelling through a well-worked set piece that exposed the visitors’ marking. The game remained finely balanced until Al-Fayha restored their advantage just before the break, and from there they managed the contest with maturity, defending their box well and attacking the spaces left by Al-Qadasiya as they chased an equaliser.

Match overview and key moments

• Al-Fayha opener: The away side’s No. 9 finished off a low cross after a quick combination on the right flank.
• Al-Qadasiya equaliser: A free-kick was flicked on at the near post and turned in from close range.
• Restored lead: Al-Fayha’s No. 10 curled a shot into the bottom corner after being allowed too much space at the edge of the area.
• Late sealing goal: With Al-Qadasiya pushing forward, Al-Fayha broke quickly and added a third through a composed one-on-one finish.

Tactical battle: patience against pressure

Al-Fayha’s approach was measured. They were content to circulate the ball, draw Al-Qadasiya out of shape, and then attack through the half-spaces. Their midfield two shielded the back four effectively, especially after taking the lead for the second time. Al-Qadasiya, by contrast, grew more direct as the match wore on, relying on crosses and set pieces, but they struggled to find clear openings against a well-drilled defensive unit.

The visitors’ goalkeeper was largely untroubled in the second half, dealing comfortably with long-range efforts and commanding his area from corners. Al-Qadasiya’s best chance to equalise came from a header that flashed wide, but the home side lacked the composure to sustain pressure for long periods.

Standout performers and league impact

Al-Fayha’s No. 10 was the standout player, combining creativity with a crucial goal. The No. 9 led the line with intelligence, while the central defender who marshalled the back four deserved credit for a disciplined second-half display. For Al-Qadasiya, the goalkeeper made two good saves and the set-piece scorer was their most dangerous outlet, but the team’s overall finishing let them down.

The three points give Al-Fayha Youth a valuable away victory in the Saudi Arabia Youth League and strengthen their momentum in the youth development race. For Al-Qadasiya Youth, the 1-3 defeat is a missed opportunity to build momentum at home, but the performance showed enough attacking intent to suggest they can bounce back in their next fixture.
