Al Ittihad Youth claimed a convincing 3-0 win over Al-Ahli Saudi FC Youth in the Saudi Arabia Youth League, delivering a composed and clinical Jeddah derby performance. The hosts controlled the key phases of the match, scored at important moments and defended their lead with maturity, while Al-Ahli struggled to turn possession into clear chances.

Match overview

Al Ittihad Youth began the night with greater urgency, pressing Al-Ahli’s build-up and forcing turnovers in midfield. The early goal gave the home side confidence, and they doubled their advantage before half-time with a well-worked move that exposed space behind the Al-Ahli defence. Al-Ahli had spells with the ball but lacked penetration in the final third, and the home side’s goalkeeper was rarely tested despite the visitors’ territorial play.

The second half followed a similar pattern. Al Ittihad sat in a disciplined shape, invited pressure and looked to strike on the counter. The third goal effectively ended the contest, and from there the hosts managed the game calmly to secure a clean sheet and an important three points.

Key moments

• Opening goal: Al Ittihad Youth capitalised on a midfield turnover and finished confidently to take an early lead.
• Second before the break: A quick combination on the edge of the box opened up Al-Ahli, and the home side made it 2-0.
• Third goal: Al Ittihad added a third after the interval, breaking forward at speed and finishing a counter-attack.
• Al-Ahli response: The visitors pushed more players forward late on, but Al Ittihad’s defence dealt with crosses and set-pieces comfortably.

Tactical story

Al Ittihad Youth’s success was built on compact defensive structure and quick transitions. The hosts pressed intelligently, not always high but with clear triggers in wide areas and central midfield. Once they won the ball, they moved it forward with purpose and attacked the spaces left by Al-Ahli’s advancing full-backs.

Al-Ahli Saudi FC Youth enjoyed periods of possession but were often forced sideways. Their midfield found it difficult to play through the lines, and when they did create space, the final ball was either overhit or defended well. The derby atmosphere added intensity, but Al Ittihad handled the occasion better and were more efficient in both boxes.

Standout performers

• Al Ittihad attacking unit: Combined well, pressed from the front and took the chances that decided the match.
• Al Ittihad central defence: Kept a clean sheet and defended the penalty area with authority in the second half.
• Al-Ahli goalkeeper: Made several saves to prevent a heavier defeat, even though the result was already slipping away.

Table and season impact

The win gives Al Ittihad Youth bragging rights in the Jeddah derby and strengthens their position in the Saudi Arabia Youth League standings. For Al-Ahli Saudi FC Youth, the defeat is a lesson in efficiency: possession alone was not enough against a side that defended well and attacked with clarity. Both teams will take important development points from the match as the youth league season progresses.
