Al Qadsiah 2-3 Al Hilal gave the Saudi Professional League another reminder of Al Hilal’s title-winning instincts, with the visitors edging a five-goal thriller at the Prince Saud bin Jalawi Stadium on 24 October 2026. Al Qadsiah pushed the league giants all the way, but a late winner settled a contest that had swung one way and then the other.

Match overview

Al Hilal began as the more polished side, controlling possession and asking questions of Al Qadsiah’s defensive line with quick rotations around the box. The visitors took an early lead and looked capable of turning their dominance into a comfortable evening. Al Qadsiah, however, responded well and grew into the game as their midfield began to win second balls and their wide players carried a counter-attacking threat.

By the second half the match had become an end-to-end contest. Al Qadsiah took the lead after a period of sustained pressure, only for Al Hilal to respond with the quality that has made them one of the most formidable teams in Saudi football. The winning goal arrived late, giving Al Hilal all three points and leaving Al Qadsiah to reflect on a brave but ultimately unrewarded performance.

Key moments

• Early Al Hilal lead: The visitors opened the scoring with a swift attacking move that stretched Al Qadsiah’s back line.
• Al Qadsiah equaliser: The home side responded before half-time, capitalising on a spell of pressure with a well-taken finish.
• Home side take charge: Al Qadsiah went ahead after the break, lifting the crowd and forcing Al Hilal to chase the game.
• Late Al Hilal winner: After equalising, the visitors found a decisive goal in the closing stages to complete a crucial comeback.

Tactical story

Al Qadsiah’s approach was built on compact defensive lines and fast breaks. They were willing to concede possession in large spells but looked dangerous whenever they could release their wingers into space. That plan worked well in the second half, when Al Hilal’s full-backs pushed higher and left gaps behind them.

Al Hilal’s quality in possession eventually told. Their midfield kept circulation quick and their forwards constantly changed positions, making it difficult for Al Qadsiah to mark them. The decisive adjustment came in the final 20 minutes, when Al Hilal increased the tempo, committed more players forward and found the winner through a patient build-up rather than a direct attack.

Standout performers

Al Hilal’s match-winner deserves credit for composure under pressure, while their midfield playmaker dictated the rhythm of the game. Al Qadsiah’s goalkeeper made several key saves to keep his side in the contest, and their captain produced a tireless display in midfield. The home side’s wide forwards were also a constant outlet on the counter.

Season impact

The result keeps Al Hilal firmly in the Saudi Professional League title race and reinforces their ability to win even when not at their fluent best. For Al Qadsiah, the performance offers encouragement, but the dropped points hurt in a league where every result against the top clubs carries significant weight. They will need to turn strong displays into points as the season progresses.
