Prishtina 0-1 FC Drita: Ismajli strike settles capital clash

FC Drita claimed a hard-fought 1-0 victory over Prishtina in the Kosovo Superliga on 25 October 2026, with a second-half goal from Lirim Ismajli proving the difference in a tense contest at the Fadil Vokrri Stadium. Prishtina had spells of control, especially before the break, but Drita’s compact shape and clinical moment in front of goal earned them all three points.

Final score: Prishtina 0-1 FC Drita

Match overview

Prishtina started brightly and looked to impose themselves on the game. Their midfield pressed high, forcing Drita into a handful of early clearances, and the first chance arrived when a whipped cross from the right was headed narrowly over. The home crowd sensed an early breakthrough, but Drita weathered the storm and gradually found their rhythm.

Drita’s best work came through quick transitions. They defended in a narrow block, inviting Prishtina forward before looking to release runners into the channels. That approach produced a few promising counters before the interval, though the final ball lacked precision.

The decisive moment arrived in the 63rd minute. Drita won possession in midfield, moved the ball quickly to the edge of the area, and Ismajli guided a low finish beyond the Prishtina goalkeeper. The goal changed the mood inside the stadium, forcing Prishtina to chase the game with greater urgency.

Key moments

• 9th minute: Prishtina’s first corner leads to a header that clears the crossbar.
• 28th minute: Drita counterattack ends with a shot from the edge of the box that is comfortably saved.
• 63rd minute: Lirim Ismajli scores the only goal of the game with a composed low finish.
• 81st minute: Prishtina appeal for a handball inside the area, but the referee waves play on.
• 90+3 minutes: Drita’s goalkeeper makes a strong save from a late Prishtina header to secure the win.

Tactical story

Prishtina lined up with a possession-oriented 4-3-3, looking to dominate through the middle and use their full-backs to stretch Drita’s defence. Drita responded with a disciplined 4-2-3-1, keeping their midfield line close to the back four and denying space between the lines.

The key difference was efficiency. Prishtina had more of the ball but struggled to create clear chances against a well-drilled defence. Drita, by contrast, needed only a few clean transitions to find the breakthrough. Once ahead, they defended deeper and forced Prishtina into crosses that were easier to handle.

Standout performers

Ismajli will take the headlines for the winning goal, but Drita’s goalkeeper was equally important, especially with his late save. Their central defenders also deserve credit for limiting Prishtina’s clear sights of goal. For Prishtina, the midfield worked hard to keep the team moving forward, but the final third lacked the sharpness needed to unlock a stubborn opponent.

Season impact

The win gives Drita an important boost in the Kosovo Superliga title race and reinforces their reputation as a team capable of winning away from home. For Prishtina, the defeat is a frustrating setback, particularly after a promising start. The result shows how costly missed chances can be in a league where the top sides are separated by fine margins.
