Jeonnam Dragons suffered a chastening evening at Gwangyang Football Stadium, going down 3-0 at home to a clinical Suwon Football Club side that punished every mistake in a one-sided K League 2 encounter.

Match Overview

The Dragons came into the game hoping to use home advantage to climb the table, but they were second-best from the opening exchanges. Suwon pressed aggressively, denied Jeonnam time on the ball and were rewarded with a first-half opener that set the tone for the rest of the match. The visitors added two more after the interval, turning a difficult night into a statement victory.

Jeonnam's supporters stayed with their team until the final whistle, but the display will concern the coaching staff. Too many passes went astray, the midfield was overrun, and the defence was repeatedly stretched by Suwon's quick wide players.

Key Moments

• 23' – Suwon take the lead. A quick counter ends with Anderson Silva finishing first-time from 12 yards after a cutback from the right.
• 39' – Jeonnam's best chance: a header from a corner is cleared off the line, and the rebound is blazed over.
• 61' – Suwon double the advantage, Kim Tae-hwan curling a superb effort into the far corner from the edge of the area.
• 78' – The third arrives from the penalty spot after a foul on Lee Seung-woo; the same player converts confidently.
• 90+2' – Jeonnam's misery is complete as a late consolation goal is ruled out for offside.

Tactical Story

Suwon's game plan was simple but executed to near perfection: press high, win the ball in the middle third, and attack with numbers. Their front three rotated constantly, dragging Jeonnam's centre-backs out of position and creating space for the midfield runners. Jeonnam tried to build from the back, but a lack of movement ahead of the ball made them predictable and easy to press.

When the Dragons did manage to get into wide areas, their crosses were comfortably dealt with by a well-organised Suwon back line. By the time the third goal went in, the contest was effectively over, and the closing stages played out with the air of a training exercise.

Standout Players

Anderson Silva was a constant menace, scoring the opener and setting up another, while Kim Tae-hwan's goal was the individual moment of the match. In midfield, Park Jong-woo controlled the tempo and won possession seven times. For Jeonnam, only young winger Cho Sang-jun offered any real spark, and he was withdrawn on 70 minutes after receiving a knock.

Season Impact

This defeat leaves Jeonnam Dragons with serious ground to make up in the K League 2 table, and questions will be asked about their home form. Suwon FC, by contrast, move into a more comfortable position and will believe a promotion push is still within reach if they maintain this level of performance. The away end celebrated long after the final whistle.
