Changwon City 1-3 Pocheon FC: Kim Min-su Hat-Trick Inspires Commanding Away Win

Pocheon FC produced a ruthless away performance to defeat Changwon City 3-1 in their K League 3 clash on October 10, 2026. A stunning hat-trick from striker Kim Min-su powered the visitors to a victory that strengthens their promotion push and exposes Changwon's defensive frailties.

Match Overview

From the opening whistle, Pocheon looked the sharper side. They pressed high, moved the ball quickly, and carved open the Changwon defence with alarming ease. The deadlock was broken in just the fifth minute when Kim Min-su latched onto a through ball, rounded the goalkeeper, and slotted into an empty net. It was a dream start for the visitors and a nightmare for the hosts.

Changwon responded well, enjoying a brief spell of possession and equalising in the 22nd minute through a well-worked free-kick. The ball was floated to the back post, where defender Park Ji-hoon powered a header past the Pocheon goalkeeper. At that point, the game looked finely balanced, but Pocheon had other ideas.

Key Moments

• 5' – Pocheon 1-0: Kim Min-su capitalises on a defensive error and finishes coolly.
• 22' – Changwon 1-1: Park Ji-hoon heads in a free-kick at the back post.
• 55' – Pocheon 2-1: Kim Min-su curls a shot into the top corner from the edge of the box.

Tactical Story

Pocheon set up in a 4-3-3 with an aggressive high press that suffocated Changwon's build-up play. The midfield trio worked tirelessly to win the ball back in advanced areas, and the front three were relentless in their running. Kim Min-su was the focal point, constantly drifting into pockets of space between the centre-backs and full-backs.

Changwon, by contrast, struggled to cope with the intensity. Their 4-2-3-1 formation left gaps between the lines, and they were repeatedly exposed on the transition. The home side did create a few half-chances, but their finishing was wayward, and their defensive organisation collapsed after Pocheon's second goal.

Standout Players

Kim Min-su was the undisputed star of the show, scoring three goals of varying quality – a poacher's finish, a curling effort from distance, and a composed one-on-one. His movement and finishing were a class above. Pocheon's captain, Lee Jung-ho, controlled the tempo in midfield, while Changwon's goalkeeper made several saves to keep the scoreline from becoming embarrassing. For Changwon, Park Ji-hoon's header was the only bright spot on a difficult afternoon.

Table Impact

Pocheon FC climb to second in the K League 3 table, level on points with the leaders and with a game in hand. Their attacking firepower makes them a serious contender for promotion. Changwon City drop to eighth, and their inconsistent form will be a concern for the coaching staff as they look to avoid being dragged into a relegation battle.
