Visakha FC (W) and Siem Reap (W) played out a tense 0-0 draw in the KH WF League on 20 September 2026, with both defences emerging on top in a match that offered plenty of effort but no end product. The goalless stalemate leaves both sides with plenty to reflect on as they continue their respective campaigns in the Cambodian women’s top flight.

Match Overview

From the first whistle, it was clear that neither team was willing to give an inch. Visakha FC (W) enjoyed the majority of possession in the opening half, patiently probing for gaps, but Siem Reap (W) defended with discipline and determination, keeping their shape and restricting the hosts to shots from distance. The best chances of the first half fell to Visakha’s lively forward, who twice forced smart saves from the Siem Reap goalkeeper. After the break, Siem Reap grew into the game and created a few openings of their own on the counter, but they too found the opposing goalkeeper in inspired form. Despite a frantic final ten minutes, neither side could find the breakthrough.

Key Moments

• 14th minute: Visakha’s first clear chance. A neat one-two releases the striker into the box, but her low shot is well saved by the diving goalkeeper.
• 33rd minute: Siem Reap almost take a surprise lead. A quick counter ends with a shot that clips the outside of the post.
• 58th minute: Visakha go close again. A header from a corner is cleared off the line by a covering defender.
• 77th minute: Siem Reap’s best opportunity. Their winger breaks free down the right, but her angled drive is tipped over the bar.
• 90+2nd minute: Visakha win a free-kick in a dangerous position, but the delivery is headed clear, and the referee blows for full time moments later.

Tactical Breakdown

Visakha FC (W) lined up in a 4-3-3, looking to use their width to stretch the Siem Reap defence. Their full-backs pushed high, and the wingers hugged the touchline, but Siem Reap’s midfielders worked hard to double up on the flanks and deny crosses. Siem Reap (W), meanwhile, operated in a compact 4-4-2, with two banks of four making it difficult for Visakha to play through the middle. The visitors were happy to sit deep and hit on the break, and their pacey forwards caused a few nervous moments. As the game wore on, Visakha’s frustration grew, and their passing became more vertical and less precise. Siem Reap, on the other hand, seemed content with a point and defended their box brilliantly in the closing stages.

Standout Players

Both goalkeepers were the heroes for their respective sides. Visakha’s shot-stopper made three excellent saves, including a superb reaction stop in the second half, while Siem Reap’s goalkeeper was equally impressive, commanding her area and claiming several dangerous crosses. In defence, Visakha’s centre-back was a rock, winning everything in the air, while Siem Reap’s right-back produced a tireless defensive display, making tackles and clearances throughout. Further forward, Visakha’s attacking midfielder was the most creative player on the pitch, constantly looking for through-balls, but she was well contained by Siem Reap’s diligent midfield duo.

KH WF League Context

The draw leaves both Visakha FC (W) and Siem Reap (W) still searching for their first win of the season, and it highlights the competitive nature of the KH WF League, where defences often come out on top. For Visakha, the result will feel like two points dropped given their dominance of possession, while Siem Reap will view it as a hard-earned away point built on organisation and resilience. Both teams will take encouragement from their defensive performances but will know that finding a consistent goalscoring threat is the key to climbing the table. The next round of fixtures offers both sides a chance to turn draws into victories and kick-start their campaigns.
