Shabana Starlets (W) secured a composed 2-0 victory over Elim White Ladies FC (W) in the Kenya Women's Football League on 26 September 2026, with a disciplined display at both ends of the pitch earning all three points. Two well-taken goals and a clean sheet made it a satisfying evening for the home side, who controlled long spells of the contest.

Match Overview

Shabana Starlets came into the fixture with a clear game plan: press high, win the ball back quickly in midfield and attack with width. It worked almost immediately. The hosts took the lead inside the opening half hour and never looked like surrendering their advantage, managing the game intelligently as the minutes ticked away.

Elim White Ladies FC had their moments, particularly on the break in the second half, but they struggled to find a way through a compact and well-organised defence.

Key Moments

• Opening goal: A quick turnover in midfield released the Shabana forward, who finished calmly past the goalkeeper to make it 1-0.
• Double save: Elim White Ladies' goalkeeper produced two sharp stops in succession to keep her side in the contest before the interval.
• Second goal: After the break, a well-delivered cross was met with a firm header to double the lead and effectively settle the match.
• Clean sheet secured: A goal-line clearance in the closing stages preserved a deserved shutout for the hosts.

Tactical Story

Shabana Starlets lined up in a flexible 4-3-3 and used their wide forwards aggressively, stretching the Elim White Ladies back line and creating space for the midfield runners. Their pressing structure was the standout feature of the performance: whenever they lost the ball, they won it back within seconds, denying the visitors any rhythm.

Elim White Ladies FC defended in a deep block and looked to counter through their quickest players. It was a reasonable approach, and they created two or three genuine openings, but their build-up play was too often rushed, and the final pass let them down at the crucial moment.

Standout Performers

The Shabana Starlets midfield was the engine room of the win, winning second balls and setting the tempo with simple, intelligent passing. The goalscorers deserve credit for their composure, while the centre-back pairing were commanding in the air and read the danger well throughout.

For Elim White Ladies FC, the goalkeeper was comfortably their best performer, making a string of saves that kept the scoreline respectable, while their captain in midfield never stopped working despite the deficit.

Season Impact

The win adds valuable momentum to Shabana Starlets' campaign and reinforces their credentials as a side capable of competing at the sharper end of the Kenya Women's Football League table. A clean sheet at home is the kind of foundation that turns promising runs into genuine title or top-half challenges.

For Elim White Ladies FC, the defeat is a setback but far from a fatal one. Their defensive organisation held up for long periods, and with more care in the final third they will pick up results elsewhere. Both sides now turn their attention to their next fixtures, with the busy league schedule offering an immediate chance to respond.
