Kenya Police Bullets Women delivered one of the most commanding displays of the Kenya Women's Football League season on Saturday, brushing aside Mathare United Women 4-0 at home. A dominant first-half performance effectively settled the contest before the interval, and the Bullets added further goals after the break to underline their title credentials.

Match Overview

Police Bullets came into the fixture with momentum and controlled possession from the first whistle. Mathare United, who have struggled for consistency this campaign, set up to defend in numbers and look for counter-attacking opportunities, but they were undone by the sheer intensity of the hosts' pressing and the speed at which the Bullets moved the ball into the final third.

The scoreline was 2-0 at half-time, and in truth it could have been more. The second half brought two further goals and a string of chances that went begging, with the visitors grateful for some wasteful finishing in the closing stages.

Key Moments

• 9' — The opener. A quick throw-in caught Mathare napping, and a first-time finish from the edge of the area gave the Bullets an early lead.
• 26' — Doubling the advantage. A driving run from midfield ended with a cut-back that was converted clinically at the near post.
• 44' — Big save. Mathare's goalkeeper produced the stop of the match to deny a third, tipping a curling effort around the post.
• 62' — Game over. A well-worked corner routine picked out the unmarked header at the far post for 3-0.
• 81' — Goal number four. A substitute finished a flowing move down the right with a low strike into the far corner.

Tactical Story

The Bullets' midfield trio bossed the game, winning the majority of second balls and recycling possession quickly. Their full-backs pushed high throughout, forcing Mathare's wide players into defensive roles and denying the visitors an outlet. Every time Mathare tried to build from the back, the Bullets' front line cut off the passing lanes and forced long clearances that were comfortably dealt with.

What was most impressive was the discipline after the third goal. Rather than easing off, the hosts kept their shape, kept their tempo, and were rewarded with a fourth. It is the kind of ruthlessness that separates genuine contenders from the rest of the pack in this division.

Standout Performers

The creative midfielder pulling the strings in the number ten role was the player of the match, involved in three of the four goals. The striker's movement in the box created space for others all evening, while the centre-back pairing kept a fifth clean sheet in their last seven league fixtures. For Mathare, the goalkeeper's shot-stopping was the bright spot on a difficult afternoon.

Season Impact

Three points and a plus-four goal difference strengthen the Bullets' position among the league's leading sides and boost their goal difference in a competitive title race. For Mathare United, the defeat leaves them searching for answers defensively; the gap between them and the division's front-runners was laid bare over 90 minutes.

Attention now turns to the next round of fixtures, where the Bullets will look to carry this attacking form into their toughest remaining away trips.
