Diavorosso Hiroshima Women secured a 2-1 away win over Veertien Mie Women in Japanese Nadeshiko League 2 on 25 October 2026. Hiroshima led early, survived a second-half equaliser, and found the winning goal in the final quarter of the match to take a valuable three points.

The contest was a good example of the different styles in Nadeshiko League 2. Veertien Mie wanted to build patiently through midfield, while Diavorosso Hiroshima relied on quick transitions and pressure in the attacking third. In the end, Hiroshima’s ability to create chances from turnovers proved decisive.

Match overview

Hiroshima started strongly and took the lead in the 19th minute after forcing a mistake in Mie’s defensive third. The visitors pressed with purpose and were rewarded when a quick move ended with a low finish. Mie responded well, gradually settling into the game and finding more space in wide areas before the break.

The equaliser arrived early in the second half. Veertien Mie moved the ball neatly around the edge of the box and finished a well-constructed move to make it 1-1. The home side had a brief spell of control, but Hiroshima regained their composure and restored their lead with a counter-attacking goal in the 77th minute.

Key moments

• 19th minute: Diavorosso Hiroshima took the lead after a high turnover and a clinical finish inside the area.
• 52nd minute: Veertien Mie equalised with a flowing move that opened up the Hiroshima defence.
• 77th minute: Hiroshima scored the winner on the break, with a forward finishing confidently past the goalkeeper.
• 86th minute: Mie pushed for a second equaliser, but a header from a corner was cleared off the line.

Tactical story

Hiroshima’s pressing game was central to their success. They closed down Mie’s midfielders quickly and forced several rushed passes, which created the platform for their first and third goals. Their front players also worked hard to close the angles, making it difficult for Mie to play out from the back.

Veertien Mie were at their best when they switched play and used the width of the pitch. Their equaliser came from exactly that kind of move, but they were unable to sustain that level of control after going behind again. Hiroshima’s decision to drop slightly deeper after the winning goal helped them protect the lead in the closing minutes.

Standout performers

Hiroshima’s forward was the match-winner, combining movement with a calm finish in the decisive moment. Their central midfielder also set the tone with aggressive pressing and intelligent distribution. For Veertien Mie, the attacking midfielder was the creative spark and helped drive the second-half comeback, while the goalkeeper made two important saves to keep the score at 1-0 before the equaliser.

Season impact

The result boosts Diavorosso Hiroshima Women’s position in the Nadeshiko League 2 standings and gives them momentum in the race for promotion. Veertien Mie Women will be disappointed to have taken only a point from a game in which they had spells of control, and they will need to be more ruthless in both boxes as the season progresses. The Nadeshiko League 2 table remains competitive, with every away win carrying significant weight.
