Tactical Story

Setagaya SfidWomen’s attacking shape caused problems throughout. They used the width of the pitch well, stretched the Miyazaki defence, and created overloads in wide areas. Their midfield also did a good job of recycling possession and keeping the tempo high, which prevented the visitors from settling into a defensive rhythm.

Viamaterras Miyazaki Women were dangerous on the break and scored two well-taken goals, but their defensive line was too often exposed. Setagaya’s movement between the lines and willingness to attack in numbers ultimately made the difference.

For Viamaterras Miyazaki Women, the two goals were a reminder of their attacking potential. Their best moments came when they moved the ball quickly and attacked the space behind the home defence, but they could not maintain that intensity for long enough to take a result.

The three points are valuable for Setagaya SfidWomen in the Nadeshiko League 1 standings and give them confidence heading into their next fixture. A 4-2 home win also underlines their attacking strength.
