Renofa Yamaguchi (W) produced one of their most complete attacking displays of the Nadeshiko League 2 season, defeating Veertien Mie Women 4-2 on 17 October 2026. The hosts scored twice in each half, survived a brief Veertien Mie resurgence, and closed out the contest with the kind of control that will encourage their promotion ambitions.

Match overview

Renofa set the tone from the opening whistle, pressing high and forcing Veertien Mie into hurried clearances. The home side’s width created constant problems, with the full-backs pushing forward and the front three rotating intelligently. Renofa built a two-goal lead before half-time, but Veertien Mie responded with a goal just before the break to keep the contest alive. The second half followed a similar pattern: Renofa edged ahead again, Veertien Mie fought back, and the hosts finally sealed the points with a late fourth goal.

Key moments

• 12th minute: Miyu Tanaka opened the scoring with a low finish after a slick right-sided move.
• 26th minute: Ami Sato doubled the lead, heading home from a corner.
• 41st minute: Yui Morimoto pulled one back for Veertien Mie with a composed finish inside the box.
• 58th minute: Rina Kobayashi restored Renofa’s two-goal cushion with a strike from the edge of the area.
• 70th minute: Haruka Nakamura made it 3-2, converting a quick counter-attack.
• 86th minute: Tanaka scored her second of the match to end any doubt.

Tactical story

Renofa’s 4-3-3 was built around quick ball circulation and aggressive pressing. Their midfield trio won most of the second balls, allowing the hosts to sustain attacks and pin Veertien Mie deep. Veertien Mie’s 4-2-3-1 looked dangerous in transition, especially through Morimoto and Nakamura, but they struggled to contain Renofa’s overlapping runs. The visitors’ best spell came early in the second half, when their counter-pressing forced Renofa into a few rushed passes, but the home side’s superior depth and composure ultimately told.

Standout players

Tanaka was the obvious headline-maker with two goals and constant movement in the final third. Sato’s aerial threat and Kobayashi’s energy in midfield gave Renofa control at key moments. For Veertien Mie, Morimoto was the brightest spark, combining well with Nakamura and giving the Renofa back line problems whenever the visitors broke quickly.

Season impact

The three points strengthen Renofa Yamaguchi’s position in the Nadeshiko League 2 standings and underline their home form. For Veertien Mie Women, the defeat is a reminder that they must tighten up defensively if they are to climb away from the lower reaches of the table. Renofa will take confidence from the attacking fluency, while Veertien Mie can at least point to a spirited second-half response.
