Nara Club claimed a hard-fought 1-0 away victory over Zweigen Kanazawa FC in the Japanese J3 League on 17 October 2026, with Koki Morita’s second-half goal separating the sides. On a night when clear chances were scarce, Nara’s discipline and clinical finishing proved decisive.

Match overview

Zweigen Kanazawa controlled much of the possession and pushed numbers forward in search of an opener, but Nara Club’s compact defensive block limited them to speculative efforts from distance. The visitors were content to absorb pressure and strike on the counter, and that approach paid off just after the hour mark. Once ahead, Nara defended their box with maturity and managed the closing stages without panic.

Key moments

• 14th minute: Zweigen’s first clear opening ended with a low shot from outside the area that was comfortably saved.
• 38th minute: Nara threatened on the break, but the final pass was cut out at the last moment.
• 64th minute: Koki Morita scored the only goal, arriving late in the box to convert a cut-back.
• 82nd minute: Nara goalkeeper Ryota Ito produced a strong save to deny Zweigen an equaliser.
• 90+3rd minute: A last-ditch clearance relieved the pressure as Nara held on for the clean sheet.

Tactical story

Zweigen Kanazawa’s build-up play was patient but predictable at times, with Nara’s midfielders closing the central lanes and forcing the hosts wide. Nara’s 4-4-2 structure stayed compact, and their front two worked tirelessly to disrupt Zweigen’s rhythm. The decisive moment came when Nara won the ball in midfield and moved it quickly into the box, catching Zweigen’s back line slightly stretched. From there, the visitors’ game management was excellent.

Standout players

Morita’s match-winning contribution was the difference, but Nara’s goalkeeper Ito deserved just as much credit for a composed performance and a crucial late save. Zweigen’s central defenders dealt with a lot of aerial pressure, while their midfielders kept probing, but the home side lacked a final touch in the attacking third.

Season impact

The win gives Nara Club an important boost in the J3 League table and reinforces their reputation as a difficult side to break down. For Zweigen Kanazawa, it is a frustrating home result that leaves them reflecting on missed opportunities. With the promotion race tightening, Nara’s ability to win away from home could prove valuable in the coming weeks.
