Sahl Horan SC secured a hard-fought 1-0 victory over Hay Al‑Amir Hasan in the Jordan League Division 1 on Friday. A late goal from substitute Omar Al-Zoubi proved the difference in a match that was decided by a moment of individual brilliance.

Match Overview

The first half was a battle of attrition, with both sides canceling each other out in midfield. Sahl Horan enjoyed slightly more possession but struggled to break down a resilient Hay Al‑Amir Hasan defense. The deadlock was finally broken in the 78th minute when Al-Zoubi, who had come on just ten minutes earlier, received the ball on the left wing, cut inside, and unleashed a ferocious shot into the top corner from 25 yards.

Hay Al‑Amir Hasan responded with urgency, throwing bodies forward in search of an equalizer. They came close in the 89th minute when a header from a free-kick clipped the top of the crossbar, but Sahl Horan held on for a vital win.

Tactical Story

Sahl Horan deployed a 4-2-3-1 formation, focusing on patient build-up play. Hay Al‑Amir Hasan countered with a 5-3-2 system, looking to frustrate and hit on the break. The game was largely a tactical stalemate until Al-Zoubi's moment of magic. The substitution proved decisive, as his fresh legs and direct running caused problems for the tiring opposition defense.

Standout Players

Omar Al-Zoubi was the obvious match-winner, but Sahl Horan's goalkeeper, Mahmoud Al-Sayed, also deserves credit for two crucial saves in the first half. For Hay Al‑Amir Hasan, captain Anas Al-Khatib was a constant threat with his set-piece delivery.

League Table Impact

The three points move Sahl Horan up to fourth in the Division 1 standings, keeping them in touch with the promotion race. Hay Al‑Amir Hasan remain in the lower half and will need to address their scoring problems to climb the table. Both teams will face tougher tests in the coming weeks.
