Huaian Team 1-2 Suqian Team — Jiangsu City Football League, September 19, 2026

Suqian Team claimed a hard-fought 2-1 victory over Huaian Team in the Jiangsu City Football League on Saturday evening, edging a tight contest that was decided by a late goal. The away side showed composure and resilience, while Huaian were left to rue a series of missed opportunities in front of goal.

Match Overview

The game began at a high tempo, with both teams pressing aggressively and looking to assert themselves early. Suqian drew first blood with a well-taken goal after a period of sustained pressure, but Huaian responded strongly and equalised before the half-hour mark. From that point on, the match became a tactical battle of wills.

Huaian enjoyed more possession in the second half and created several half-chances, but Suqian’s defence held firm. The winning goal arrived in the 78th minute, a moment of quality that broke Huaian’s resistance. The hosts pushed forward in the closing stages, but Suqian managed the game expertly to secure all three points.

Key Moments

• 18th minute: Suqian took the lead with a first-time finish from inside the penalty area after a patient build-up.
• 29th minute: Huaian equalised with a powerful strike from the edge of the box that gave the goalkeeper no chance.
• 52nd minute: Huaian’s striker was denied by a brilliant save, one of the best stops of the night.
• 78th minute: Suqian scored the winner with a clever near-post finish following a short corner.
• 90+3rd minute: Huaian’s final header sailed over the bar as the home side ran out of time.

Tactical Story

Huaian set up in a 4-2-3-1 formation and tried to control the game through their midfield trio. They moved the ball well at times, but Suqian’s 4-4-2 shape was compact and difficult to break down. The visitors defended with discipline, limiting Huaian to shots from distance and crowding the central areas.

Suqian’s game plan was based on quick transitions and set-pieces. Their opening goal came from a well-constructed move, while the winner arrived from a short corner that caught Huaian’s defence off guard. Defensively, Suqian’s centre-backs were excellent, winning aerial duels and clearing their lines under pressure. Huaian’s manager made attacking substitutions, but the equaliser never came.

Standout Players

Suqian’s goalkeeper was a standout performer, making several important saves, including the one-on-one stop in the second half. The winning goalscorer showed great awareness to find space at the near post and finish calmly. In midfield, Suqian’s captain was a driving force, breaking up play and starting counter-attacks.

For Huaian, the goalscorer was their brightest spark, and the left winger caused problems with his direct running. However, the team’s finishing let them down on a night when they created enough chances to take at least a point.

League Impact

This 2-1 win is a valuable result for Suqian, lifting them in the Jiangsu City Football League standings and extending their positive run. It was a classic away performance: organised, patient and ruthless when the decisive moment arrived. Huaian, meanwhile, remain competitive but will know that home defeats in tight games can prove costly over the course of a season.

The match served as a reminder that in this league, fine margins and set-piece quality often decide outcomes. Suqian’s ability to win away from home could be a key factor in their campaign, while Huaian must convert possession into points.
