Castel Volturno Calcio claimed a convincing 3-1 away victory over Real Casoria Calcio in Italy Amateur Eccellenza Puglia on 25 October 2026, delivering a performance built on clinical finishing and disciplined defending. The visitors took control of the match with a strong first-half display, absorbed pressure when Real Casoria Calcio pushed forward after the break and then sealed the result with a well-taken third goal. The win gives Castel Volturno Calcio an important three points in the regional campaign, while Real Casoria Calcio are left to reflect on a frustrating evening.

Match overview

Eccellenza Puglia is a competitive amateur stage where organisation, physicality and set-piece quality often decide matches. Real Casoria Calcio began with the intent of imposing themselves at home, looking to move the ball quickly through midfield and create shooting opportunities from the edges of the penalty area. Castel Volturno Calcio, however, were compact from the outset and seemed content to let their opponents have possession in less dangerous areas.

The away side's patience paid off. Castel Volturno Calcio opened the scoring after a well-worked attacking move and then doubled their advantage before half-time, punishing Real Casoria Calcio for leaving space between the lines. The home team improved after the restart and pulled a goal back, but Castel Volturno Calcio responded with a third goal that ended any realistic hopes of a comeback.

Key moments

The first goal set the tone. Castel Volturno Calcio moved the ball with purpose, drew the home defence toward one side and then switched play to create an opening. The finish was composed, and the early advantage gave the visitors something to protect. Real Casoria Calcio tried to respond immediately, but their attacks were often broken up before they could reach the final third.

The second goal was arguably the most damaging for the home side. It arrived during a period when Real Casoria Calcio were beginning to find a rhythm, and it forced them to chase the game before the interval. After the break, the home team came out with more urgency and were rewarded with a goal that brought the crowd back into the contest. For a brief spell, an equaliser looked possible. Castel Volturno Calcio, though, managed the moment well and scored their third goal late on to confirm the win.

Tactical story

Castel Volturno Calcio's victory was rooted in defensive discipline. Their back line held a good shape, limited space in behind and forced Real Casoria Calcio to attack through congested central areas. When the home side did find width, the visitors' midfielders worked back diligently to support the full-backs. That collective defensive effort gave Castel Volturno Calcio the platform to counter-attack effectively.

In possession, the visitors were direct without being reckless. They looked to play forward quickly, used the channels well and were not afraid to shoot from distance when the opportunity arose. Real Casoria Calcio, by contrast, struggled to find a balance between attacking ambition and defensive security. Their full-backs pushed high in search of overloads, but that left space for Castel Volturno Calcio to exploit on the break, particularly in the second half.

Standout performers

Castel Volturno Calcio's forward line deserves much of the credit for the result. The attackers combined well, stretched the home defence and took their chances when they arrived. The midfield also played a crucial role, winning second balls and keeping the team's shape when Real Casoria Calcio tried to build pressure. The goalkeeper handled crosses well and made a key save during the home side's best spell after half-time.

For Real Casoria Calcio, the captain and central midfielder were among the more consistent performers, trying to drive the team forward and link play in crowded areas. The goal was a reward for the home side's improved intensity after the break, but individual efforts were not enough against a Castel Volturno Calcio team that defended as a unit and attacked with clear purpose.

Eccellenza Puglia impact

The 3-1 scoreline gives Castel Volturno Calcio three valuable points and a positive result to build on in the Italy Amateur Eccellenza Puglia campaign. Away wins in this division are often hard-earned, and a performance that combines solid defending with efficient attacking can be a strong platform for the weeks ahead. The visitors will also be pleased with the way they managed the game after Real Casoria Calcio pulled a goal back.

Real Casoria Calcio, meanwhile, will need to tighten up defensively and find a better balance between committing players forward and protecting the space behind. The home side showed enough attacking intent to suggest they can compete, but conceding three goals makes it difficult to take anything from a match.
