Lions MM Montemiletto 1-2 Agerola — Agerola produced a composed and clinical away performance in Italy's Amateur Eccellenza Puglia, overturning an early deficit to claim a 2-1 victory at Lions MM Montemiletto on 26 September 2026.

Match Overview

Eccellenza Puglia is one of the most competitive regional divisions in Italian amateur football, a level where physicality, local pride, and tactical discipline often decide matches. This fixture lived up to that reputation. Lions MM Montemiletto began brightly in front of their own supporters and struck first, but Agerola responded with maturity, gradually wrestled control of the contest, and turned the game around with two well-constructed goals.

By the final whistle, the visitors were good value for their win. Their ability to stay calm after conceding early, and to keep their shape while chasing the game, underlined why they are regarded as a tough opponent on the road.

Key Moments

• Montemiletto take the lead: The hosts started with energy and were rewarded when a purposeful attacking move opened up the Agerola defence, sending the home crowd into early celebration.
• Agerola respond before the break: Rather than panicking, the visitors tightened their passing and found an equaliser, restoring parity and shifting the momentum of the match.
• The winning goal: Agerola completed the turnaround in the second half, converting their best chance of the period and forcing Montemiletto to chase the game.
• Defensive resilience: In the final twenty minutes, Agerola defended their box with discipline, dealing with crosses and set pieces to protect the three points.

Tactical Story

Lions MM Montemiletto's plan was built on early aggression — pressing high, winning the ball in advanced areas, and attacking quickly through the middle. It worked perfectly for the opening phase and gave them the lead, but the demanding tempo proved difficult to sustain. As the match wore on, gaps began to appear between their midfield and defensive lines, and Agerola exploited them with intelligent movement off the ball.

Agerola's adjustment was the defining tactical feature of the night. The visitors slowed the game down when needed, circulated possession patiently across the back, and then attacked with numbers when the opportunity arose. Their two goals came from that patient build-up, and once ahead, they had the game management to see it out.

Standout Performers

Agerola's attacking unit deserves the plaudits for converting the chances that mattered, while their central defenders were outstanding in the closing stages, clearing everything thrown into the box. For Montemiletto, the opening goalscorer and the midfield runners who created the early chances were the bright spots on an evening that ultimately slipped away from them.

Season Impact

A 2-1 away win is a significant result in Eccellenza Puglia, where away form frequently decides who stays in the promotion conversation and who slides toward the relegation battle. Agerola leave with three valuable points and growing confidence, while Lions MM Montemiletto are left to reflect on a bright start that was not converted into a result — a pattern they will need to correct quickly if they are to climb the standings.

Both clubs return to league action next, with Agerola looking to build momentum and Montemiletto determined to turn promising spells into points on home soil.
