Castel Volturno Calcio produced one of the most complete performances of the weekend in the Italy Amateur Eccellenza Puglia, dismantling Rangers Qualiano 1998 with a commanding 3-0 victory in front of their own supporters.

Match Overview

From the opening whistle, Castel Volturno looked sharper, quicker and more organised. Their pressing forced Rangers Qualiano into a series of hurried clearances, and the hosts' early control translated into the opening goal before the visitors had truly settled into the game.

Rangers Qualiano attempted to respond by dropping deeper and looking to spring counter-attacks, but they struggled to retain possession long enough to build any sustained pressure. Castel Volturno doubled their lead before the interval and added a third after the break to complete a thoroughly deserved win.

Key Moments

• Opening goal: Castel Volturno struck first with a well-constructed move, working the ball into the box before a composed finish gave them the lead.
• Second goal: A set-piece situation doubled the advantage, with the hosts reacting quickest to a loose ball in the area.
• Third goal: The game was put beyond doubt in the second half with a sweeping counter-attack finished off at the near post.
• Clean sheet: Rangers Qualiano's best moment came late, but Castel Volturno's defence held firm to keep a valuable shutout.

Tactical Story

Castel Volturno set up in a fluid shape that allowed their midfielders to rotate freely, making them difficult to mark and creating constant passing options. Their width stretched Rangers Qualiano's back line, and the visitors' defensive block was pulled apart repeatedly over the ninety minutes.

Rangers Qualiano 1998's difficulties were largely structural. With too much distance between their midfield and attack, they were unable to hold possession or relieve pressure on their defence. When they did commit players forward, they were exposed by the hosts' quick vertical passes. It was a tough afternoon that highlighted the gap between the two sides on current form.

Standout Performers

Castel Volturno's front three were relentless, pressing from the front and rotating positions to unsettle their markers. The central defender at the heart of the back line marshalled the unit superbly, winning aerial duels and stepping out of defence to intercept passes. The goalkeeper's handling was clean and his distribution helped launch several attacking moves.

For Rangers Qualiano, their goalkeeper kept the scoreline respectable with a string of saves, while their captain showed leadership in a difficult contest, tracking back and urging his teammates on despite the score. Those individual efforts will give the coaching staff something to build on.

Season Impact

In the Eccellenza Puglia, where promotion races are often decided by goal difference and home form, a 3-0 win is worth more than three points. Castel Volturno Calcio's goal difference received a healthy boost, and the clean sheet will reinforce the confidence of a defensive unit that has been building steadily.

Rangers Qualiano 1998 must regroup quickly. Amateur league seasons are unforgiving, with fixtures coming thick and fast, and a heavy defeat can quickly affect confidence. Improving compactness between the lines and finding a more reliable outlet in possession will be the priorities before the next round of games.
