Tactical Story

ASD Savignanese set up with an energetic 4-3-3, looking to win the ball back quickly in the opponent’s half. Their midfield trio pressed together and often forced San Marino into long passes, which the home defence dealt with comfortably. In possession, Savignanese favoured quick switches and early crosses, aiming to isolate their wide forwards against the visiting full-backs.

Victor San Marino lined up in a more direct 4-4-2 and tried to use their strike partnership to hold the ball up and bring midfield runners into play. That approach improved after the interval, especially once Guidi was introduced, but San Marino struggled to create clear chances from open play for much of the first hour. Their goal came from persistence and a willingness to attack second balls inside the box.

The closing stages saw Savignanese manage the game rather than chase a third goal. They slowed the tempo, kept their shape and forced San Marino to play around them. It was not always comfortable, but the home side’s organisation and game management were enough to protect the lead.
