US Folgore Caratese U19 booked their place in the next round of the Italian Youth Champions Cup with a battling 2-1 win over Treviso U19. The hosts produced a mature, disciplined performance, combining attacking verve with defensive resolve to see off a Treviso side that refused to go away quietly.

Youth cup competition offers a vital development stage for young Italian players, and this tie showcased exactly why. Both teams played with ambition, committing numbers forward and creating a steady stream of chances, while the tactical discipline on display underlined the quality of coaching at this level.

Match Overview

Folgore Caratese began the game on the front foot, pressing high and forcing Treviso into early errors. Their intensity paid off as they took the lead, rewarding a bright opening spell with a goal that reflected their control of the contest. Treviso, though, responded well, gradually working their way back into the game and threatening an equaliser before the break.

The second half brought a decisive moment, with Caratese restoring a two-goal cushion. Treviso halved the deficit and pushed hard for a leveller in the closing stages, but the hosts defended their box with composure and saw the match out.

Key Moments

• Opening goal: Caratese took the lead after a sustained period of pressure in the first half.
• Second goal: The hosts doubled their advantage after the interval to seize control of the tie.
• Treviso response: A well-taken goal brought the visitors back into contention and set up a tense finale.
• Late defending: Caratese held their nerve through stoppage time to protect the win.

Tactical Story

Folgore Caratese's success was built on aggressive pressing and quick ball recovery in the middle third. By winning possession high up the pitch, they repeatedly caught Treviso in transition and created chances without needing elaborate build-up play. Their forward players linked well, rotating across the front line to pull defenders out of position.

Treviso's best moments came when they switched the point of attack quickly and got their full-backs forward. Their goal was a reward for persistence, and their willingness to keep playing positive football right to the final whistle was commendable even in defeat.

Standout Performers

Caratese's midfield engine set the tempo for his side, winning tackles and driving forward with purpose, while their centre-forward led the line with intelligence, holding the ball up and bringing others into play. Treviso's goalkeeper made several important stops to keep his team within touching distance, and their attacking midfielder was the visitors' most creative influence.

Season Impact

Progress in the Italian Youth Champions Cup gives Folgore Caratese's young squad another valuable knockout experience and a chance to test themselves against stronger opposition. For Treviso U19, the result is disappointing but the performance offered plenty of encouragement, with several players demonstrating the technical quality required to progress in the game.
