Parma Women 1-2 Fiorentina Women: Visitors Edge Italian Women's Serie A Thriller

Fiorentina Women came from behind to beat Parma Women 2-1 in the Italian Women's Serie A, securing an important away victory at the Stadio Ennio Tardini. Parma started brightly and took the lead, but Fiorentina’s response was measured and clinical, with the winning goal arriving in the second half.

The result adds three valuable points to Fiorentina’s league tally and keeps them in the hunt for the upper reaches of the Italian Women's Serie A standings. Parma, meanwhile, were left to reflect on a performance that had moments of quality but lacked the finishing touch in the final third.

Match Overview

Parma began with intensity and were rewarded for their early pressure when Melania Martinovic opened the scoring in the 18th minute. The forward latched onto a loose ball inside the area and finished with authority, giving the home side a deserved lead.

Fiorentina responded well to going behind. They began to dominate possession in midfield and created a series of half-chances before equalising shortly before half-time. Michela Cambiaghi was the scorer, converting a low cross from the left after a patient build-up.

Key Moments

• 18th minute: Parma take the lead through Martinovic’s close-range finish.
• 42nd minute: Fiorentina equalise through Cambiaghi after a sustained spell of pressure.
• 56th minute: Parma’s goalkeeper makes a strong save to deny Fiorentina a second goal.
• 67th minute: Fiorentina score the winner as Emma Severini arrives late in the box to finish a flowing move.
• 84th minute: Parma push forward in search of an equaliser, but Fiorentina’s defence stays organised.

Tactical Story

Fiorentina’s comeback was built on control in midfield and intelligent movement in wide areas. After falling behind, they increased the tempo of their passing and began to stretch Parma’s defensive shape. The equaliser came from exactly that pattern: a wide overload followed by a dangerous delivery into the box.

Parma’s early energy faded as the match wore on, and their midfield struggled to close the gaps that appeared between the lines. Fiorentina exploited those spaces well in the second half, with Severini’s late run into the box proving the difference between the two sides.

Standout Players

Michela Cambiaghi was a constant threat for Fiorentina, combining sharp movement with composed finishing. Emma Severini delivered the decisive moment and controlled the rhythm of the midfield. In defence, Fiorentina’s centre-backs dealt well with Parma’s direct approach in the closing stages.

For Parma, Melania Martinovic took her goal well and worked tirelessly up front. Their goalkeeper also produced several important saves to keep the scoreline close, but the home side could not find a second goal.

What It Means

The win gives Fiorentina momentum in the Italian Women's Serie A and reinforces their reputation as a side capable of grinding out away results. Parma remain with work to do, particularly in terms of game management after taking the lead.

Both teams will now turn their attention to the next round, with Fiorentina looking to build on a strong away performance and Parma aiming to convert promising spells into points.
