Vigor Lamezia 3-0 Enna produced a commanding home performance in Italian Serie D on Sunday, with Vigor Lamezia combining sharp attacking play with a deserved clean sheet. The final score underlined the hosts’ superiority, but the match was more competitive than the margin might suggest for long periods.

Match overview

Vigor Lamezia set the tone from the opening minutes. They pressed high, won the ball back quickly and forced Enna into a series of early defensive errors. The breakthrough came after a fluent move down the left, with a low cross converted at the near post. That goal settled the hosts and allowed them to play with greater freedom.

Enna tried to respond, but Vigor Lamezia’s midfield kept the game compact and denied them space between the lines. A second goal arrived before half-time, this time from a set piece, and it gave the home side a cushion they rarely looked like surrendering. The third goal in the second half ended any lingering doubt.

Key moments

• Early opener: Vigor Lamezia scored from a well-worked move down the left flank.
• Before half-time: A set-piece header doubled the lead and gave the hosts control.
• Second half: Vigor Lamezia added a third goal after a quick turnover and a clinical finish.
• Clean sheet: The home defence dealt comfortably with Enna’s late attempts to find a consolation goal.

Tactical story

Vigor Lamezia’s success was built on aggressive pressing and quick transitions. They refused to let Enna settle on the ball, forcing long passes and then winning the second balls in midfield. When they recovered possession, they attacked with purpose, often using the wide areas to stretch Enna’s back line before delivering into the box.

Enna struggled to find a foothold. Their best moments came from individual runs rather than sustained team moves, and they were often left exposed when Vigor Lamezia broke forward. The away side improved slightly after the third goal, but by then the result was beyond reach.

Standout performers

Vigor Lamezia’s attacking midfielder was the standout player, setting the tempo and contributing to two of the three goals. The centre-back who scored the second goal was dominant in the air, while the goalkeeper made a smart save late on to preserve the clean sheet. Enna’s goalkeeper deserves credit for keeping the score down with several good stops.

Season impact

The three points strengthen Vigor Lamezia’s position in the Serie D table and give them a strong platform for the next run of fixtures. A 3-0 win with a clean sheet is the kind of result that builds belief in the dressing room. For Enna, the defeat is a reminder of the quality required in a demanding division, but the club will look to respond quickly in its next home fixture.
