Vibonese Secure Comfortable 2-0 Win Over PraiaTortora

Vibonese claimed all three points with a professional 2-0 victory over ASD Digiesse PraiaTortora in Italian Serie D on Sunday evening. The win strengthens Vibonese's push for promotion, while PraiaTortora remain in the lower half of the table.

Vibonese started brightly and took the lead in the 18th minute when Francesco Russo pounced on a defensive mistake and fired into the bottom corner. The hosts continued to dominate possession and doubled their advantage in the 54th minute through Giuseppe Marino, who headed in a pinpoint cross from the right.

Key Moments

PraiaTortora's best chance came in the 70th minute, but a superb reflex save from Vibonese's goalkeeper kept the two-goal cushion intact. Vibonese could have added a third late on, but Russo was denied by the post after a swift counter-attack.

Tactical Story

Vibonese lined up in a 4-3-3 and controlled the midfield through Antonio Greco, who dictated play with his passing range. PraiaTortora struggled to cope with the intensity and rarely threatened going forward. Their 5-4-1 formation was designed to frustrate, but once Vibonese scored, the game plan unravelled.

Standout Players

• Francesco Russo (Vibonese) – one goal, hit the post, constant threat.
• Giuseppe Marino (Vibonese) – scored the second and won aerial duels.
• Antonio Greco (Vibonese) – midfield maestro, controlled the tempo.

Season Impact

Vibonese move up to fourth in the Serie D standings, keeping pace with the promotion contenders. PraiaTortora remain in 16th, just above the relegation play-off zone. Vibonese will look to build on this result in their next fixture, while PraiaTortora face a crucial battle to avoid dropping further.
