ASD Aranova edged a remarkable seven-goal Serie D thriller against Unipomezia on 18 October 2026, winning 4-3 away from home in a match that swung repeatedly and produced drama right to the final whistle.

For neutrals, this was the highlight of the Italian Serie D weekend: seven goals, shifting momentum, and two teams committed to attacking football. For Unipomezia, it was a painful result built on defensive lapses; for Aranova, it was a statement away performance full of character and cutting edge.

Match overview

Unipomezia made the brighter start and took the lead inside the opening quarter of an hour through Matteo Rossi, who finished from close range after a scramble in the box. Aranova responded quickly, equalising on 21 minutes when Luca Moretti curled a shot into the top corner from the edge of the area.

The visitors then went ahead for the first time on 34 minutes, with Federico Neri converting a penalty after a foul in the box. Unipomezia levelled just before half-time through Andrea Colasanti, whose header made it 2-2 at the break.

The second half was equally frantic. Aranova regained the lead on 58 minutes when Moretti scored his second of the match, only for Unipomezia to equalise again on 71 minutes through Simone Bernardini. With the game seemingly heading for a draw, Aranova found a late winner in the 86th minute through substitute Alessandro De Santis, who reacted quickest to a loose ball in the box.

Tactical story

Both sides prioritised attacking transitions, and that openness produced a breathless contest. Aranova’s 4-2-3-1 shape allowed their wide forwards to attack the space behind Unipomezia’s full-backs, while Unipomezia looked dangerous whenever they could get the ball into the box early. Set pieces and second balls caused problems throughout.

The key difference was Aranova’s ruthlessness in the final 15 minutes. Having conceded an equaliser, they did not settle for a point and continued to push forward. Unipomezia’s defence, which had struggled with movement all evening, could not deal with one final attack, and De Santis made them pay.

Standout players

Luca Moretti was the outstanding individual on the pitch, scoring twice and constantly troubling Unipomezia’s back line. Alessandro De Santis made the decisive impact from the bench, while Federico Neri controlled the tempo in midfield for Aranova. Unipomezia’s Andrea Colasanti and Simone Bernardini deserve credit for keeping their side in the game, but the home defence will want to review the goals conceded.

Serie D table impact

The win gives Aranova three important points and a surge of confidence, especially after such a high-scoring away performance. Unipomezia, meanwhile, are left to rue another leaky defensive display. Their attacking output was strong enough to win most matches, but conceding four at home will be a major concern as the Serie D season progresses.
