Tritium 2-2 Rovato Vertovese SSD — Four goals, two comebacks and a frantic finish: Tritium and Rovato Vertovese SSD played out an entertaining 2-2 draw in Serie D that gave the evening crowd far more drama than the league table might have predicted.

Match overview

Rovato Vertovese arrived as the more confident side and showed why inside the opening twenty minutes, racing into a two-goal lead that briefly threatened to turn the contest into a procession. Tritium, however, refused to fold, and their response — a goal before the interval and an equaliser in the second half — turned the fixture into one of the more gripping draws of the round.

How the game unfolded

• 0-1: Rovato Vertovese pressed high from the first whistle and were rewarded when a turnover was converted with a crisp finish into the far corner.
• 0-2: A well-delivered free-kick was headed home to double the advantage, leaving Tritium visibly stunned.
• 2-1: Tritium halved the deficit shortly before half-time, a scrappy goal that owed much to persistence in the six-yard box.
• 2-2: The equaliser came midway through the second half, a sweeping move finished first-time at the near post.

Tactical story

Rovato Vertovese's early dominance came from aggressive pressing and quick switches of play. Their front two worked in tandem, one dropping to receive while the other attacked the space behind, and Tritium's back line struggled to track the movement. Once the visitors' intensity dipped, though, the game changed completely.

Tritium adjusted by pushing their midfield higher and committing their full-backs forward, turning the match into a series of attacking waves. The shift in territory was dramatic: for the final half-hour the visitors were largely camped in their own third, defending crosses and clearing long balls under pressure.

Standout performers

Tritium's captain was the driving force behind the comeback, setting the tempo and repeatedly carrying the ball into dangerous areas. The substitute introduced at half-time added genuine width and directness. Rovato Vertovese's two goalscorers were sharp in the opening period, but it was their goalkeeper who earned his side a point with a string of saves in the closing stages.

What it means for the table

The draw extends both clubs' unbeaten tendencies but does little to alter the broader picture in their Serie D group. Tritium will be encouraged by the character shown in recovering from two goals down — a trait that matters enormously across a long, punishing season. Rovato Vertovese, meanwhile, will be frustrated at letting a two-goal cushion slip, a pattern that has cost them points in tight away fixtures.

In a division where promotion and relegation battles are frequently decided by a handful of points, these are exactly the games that get replayed in the memory come spring.

Head-to-head and what's next

Draws have been a recurring feature of this head-to-head in recent seasons, and the two managers will take different lessons from this one: one about resilience, the other about game management. Both sides now face a run of matches against direct rivals, making the next few weeks crucial to their ambitions.
