• Sarrabus take an early lead: The visitors pressed high and punished Trastevere with a composed finish.
• Trastevere equalise: The home side’s pressure paid off before half-time, restoring parity.
• Hosts go ahead: Trastevere started the second half strongly and moved into a 2-1 lead.
• Sarrabus respond again: The visitors refused to fold and equalised to set up a tense finale.
• Late winner: Trastevere found the decisive goal in the closing stages to claim all three points.

Tactical story

Trastevere’s comeback was built on increased width and quicker ball circulation. After a shaky opening, they moved the ball from side to side to stretch Sarrabus’s midfield and create space for runners into the box. Their full-backs pushed higher, allowing the wide forwards to drift inside and combine with the central striker.

Sarrabus remained dangerous on the counter and exposed Trastevere’s tendency to leave gaps when attacking. Their two goals came from quick transitions and sharp movement in the final third. However, they could not maintain that intensity for the full 90 minutes, and Trastevere’s greater attacking depth eventually told. The home side’s willingness to keep pushing forward was rewarded with the late winner.

Standout performers

Trastevere’s attacking players shared the responsibility, with their movement and link-up play causing constant problems for Sarrabus. The winning goal was the product of persistence and good decision-making in the final third. For Sarrabus, their forward line was a constant threat, and their goalkeeper made several saves to keep the visitors in the game. The away side’s midfield also worked tirelessly, but they were ultimately undone by a late lapse in concentration.

What the result means

The 3-2 victory gives Trastevere Calcio an important three points in the Italian Serie D standings and boosts confidence after a testing contest. For COS Sarrabus Ogliastra, the defeat is a painful one, especially after twice finding the net, but their performance showed they can compete against strong opposition. The result adds another entertaining chapter to the head-to-head between the two clubs and leaves both sides with clear areas to work on defensively.
