Trastevere and Citta di Anagni Settle for Point in Serie D Stalemate

Trastevere Calcio and Citta di Anagni played out a 0-0 draw in Italian Serie D on Sunday evening. The match, played at Trastevere's home ground, was a tight tactical battle that ultimately lacked a decisive moment.

With both teams positioned in mid-table, the game was seen as an opportunity to climb the standings. However, solid defensive organisation from both sides ensured clear chances were at a premium.

Key Moments

The best opportunity of the first half fell to Trastevere's Marco Rossi, whose curling effort clipped the outside of the post. Anagni responded after the break with Luca Bianchi forcing a smart low save from the Trastevere goalkeeper. In the 82nd minute, Anagni thought they had won a penalty, but the referee waved away appeals for handball.

Tactical Story

Both managers employed a 3-5-2 system, leading to a congested midfield. Trastevere tried to play out from the back, while Anagni pressed high and looked to force errors. The game became a chess match, with neither side able to find the final pass.

Standout Players

• Andrea Conti (Trastevere goalkeeper) – clean sheet and a key second-half save.
• Matteo Ricci (Anagni defender) – outstanding positioning and interceptions.
• Marco Rossi (Trastevere) – closest to scoring with his effort off the post.

Season Impact

The point leaves Trastevere in tenth and Anagni in twelfth. Both sides remain in the hunt for a playoff spot, but they will need to find more cutting edge in front of goal. The reverse fixture promises to be equally tight, with both defences likely to dominate again.
