Sanremese delivered a statement performance at home, sweeping aside A.S.D. Bra 3-0 in a Serie D fixture that showcased the full range of their attacking quality. On a floodlit Sunday evening, the Ligurian club produced a clinical, confident display that left little doubt about which side deserved the points.

Match Overview

Sanremese, one of the most historic names in north-west Italian football, hosted a Bra side from Piedmont known for its technical approach and willingness to play out from the back. The contrast in styles made for an intriguing tactical battle, but the hosts' intensity and finishing proved decisive in a game that was effectively settled well before the final whistle.

Key Moments

• Fast start: Sanremese flew out of the blocks, pinning Bra deep inside their own half during the opening exchanges.
• First goal: A slick passing move down the left ended with a composed finish inside the area, giving the home side a deserved lead.
• Doubling the advantage: Shortly before half-time, Sanremese struck again, this time from a set-piece situation that Bra failed to clear properly.
• Bra's best spell: The visitors improved after the restart, enjoying more possession and forcing two saves from the Sanremese goalkeeper.
• Third goal: A rapid counter-attack sealed the result, with a substitute finishing coolly after a driving run through midfield.

Tactical Story

Sanremese's approach was built on aggressive pressing in the opposition half. Their front players closed down Bra's defenders quickly, forcing rushed passes and creating turnovers in dangerous areas. When they won the ball back, the transition was brutally efficient: two or three passes were often enough to create a shooting opportunity.

Bra's insistence on building from the back, while admirable in principle, became a liability against such motivated opposition. Their midfielders repeatedly found themselves receiving with their backs to goal, and the resulting turnovers invited pressure. To their credit, the visitors adapted after the break by playing longer and more directly, which helped them gain a foothold, but the game was already beyond reach.

Standout Performers

The Sanremese forward line was relentless, with the wide attackers particularly effective at isolating their markers and delivering early crosses. The central midfielder who orchestrated the third goal showed excellent game awareness, driving into space rather than playing the safe pass. For Bra, the goalkeeper prevented a heavier defeat with a series of sharp saves, while their right-back was a rare source of forward momentum.

What It Means

The result boosts Sanremese's goal difference and their confidence, reinforcing their credentials as a side capable of competing near the top end of the Serie D table. For A.S.D. Bra, the defeat highlights the importance of adapting mid-game: the talent is clearly there, but the margin for error against the division's stronger teams is small. Both clubs now turn their attention to the next round of fixtures with very different moods.
