Villa d'Alme take control early

Real Calepina started with intent, trying to play through midfield and build attacks from the back. Tactical story

Villa d'Alme Valbrembana's 4-3-3 shape was effective both with and without the ball. Out of possession, they pressed high and forced Real Calepina into long passes that were comfortably dealt with by the centre-backs. In possession, they attacked quickly through the half-spaces, with the front three rotating constantly. Real Calepina struggled to maintain possession for long spells and were often caught with too many players ahead of the ball, which invited the counter-attacks that led to the second and third goals.

Standout players

Marco Riva was a constant threat, his movement and finishing setting the tone for the away side. Luca Gritti controlled midfield and timed his run perfectly for the second goal. Simone Belotti made an instant impact from the bench, while the Villa d'Alme defence deserves credit for a clean sheet built on discipline and communication. For Real Calepina, the goalkeeper made several saves to keep the score from becoming heavier, but the team lacked a consistent foothold in the final third.

What it means in the Serie D table

The win lifts Villa d'Alme Valbrembana in the Serie D standings and strengthens their position in the upper half of the table. For Real Calepina FC, the defeat is a reminder of the fine margins in Serie D, where defensive mistakes are punished ruthlessly. The result also highlights Villa d'Alme's away form, which could prove crucial in a league where travel and consistency often separate promotion contenders from mid-table sides.

Real Calepina must now regroup and find a way to turn possession into chances, while Villa d'Alme will look to build on a performance that had all the hallmarks of a promotion-chasing team.
