Pro Sesto produced a ruthless performance to thrash Oltrepo 6-1 in Italian Serie D on Sunday evening, with a stunning attacking display that will send warning signs to the rest of the division. Match Overview

• Fixture: Pro Sesto vs Oltrepo
• Competition: Italian Serie D
• Date: 27 September 2026
• Kick-off: 21:00
• Final Score: Pro Sesto 6-1 Oltrepo

Pro Sesto set the tone early, scoring inside the first 10 minutes and never taking their foot off the gas. Oltrepo had no answer to the home side's pressing and movement, and by half-time the game was effectively over at 3-0. The second half was more of the same, with Pro Sesto adding three more goals before Oltrepo grabbed a late consolation.

Key Moments

Pro Sesto opened the scoring in the 8th minute through a fine individual effort from winger Matteo Riva. Striker Davide Colombo made it 2-0 in the 23rd minute, and he added his second in the 41st minute with a header from a corner. After the break, Riva completed his brace in the 55th minute, and substitute Andrea Conti scored a quickfire double in the 67th and 74th minutes to make it 6-0. Oltrepo pulled one back in the 88th minute through a penalty converted by Marco Rossi, but it was merely a consolation.

Tactical Story

Pro Sesto lined up in an aggressive 4-3-3, with their front three pressing Oltrepo's defenders into mistakes. The midfield trio dominated the centre of the park, winning second balls and launching wave after wave of attacks. Oltrepo tried to play out from the back but were repeatedly caught in possession, and their defensive line was too high, allowing Pro Sesto's pacey forwards to run in behind at will. It was a tactical masterclass from the Pro Sesto manager.

Standout Players

Matteo Riva was electric on the wing, scoring two goals and causing havoc all evening. Davide Colombo was a constant threat in the box, netting a first-half brace, while substitute Andrea Conti made an instant impact with two goals in seven minutes. For Oltrepo, goalkeeper Luca Ferrari was left badly exposed and picked the ball out of his net six times, though he made several saves to prevent an even heavier defeat.

Serie D Standings and Season Impact

The emphatic win sends Pro Sesto soaring up the Serie D standings and significantly boosts their goal difference, which could prove crucial in the promotion race. Oltrepo, on the other hand, remain rooted near the bottom and will need a drastic improvement to avoid a relegation battle. The head-to-head record between these two is now heavily in Pro Sesto's favour, and on this evidence, they look like genuine title contenders.
