Pistoiese produced a dominant display to beat ACD SantAngelo 3-0 in Italian Serie D on Sunday evening, with a clinical second-half performance sealing a comfortable home victory. The win moves Pistoiese up the Serie D standings and extends their unbeaten run, while SantAngelo remain in the lower reaches of the table after a disappointing night.

Match Overview

• Fixture: Pistoiese vs ACD SantAngelo
• Competition: Italian Serie D
• Date: 27 September 2026
• Kick-off: 21:00
• Final Score: Pistoiese 3-0 ACD SantAngelo

Pistoiese controlled the game from the first minute, pressing high and forcing SantAngelo into mistakes. The home side took the lead midway through the first half and never looked back, adding two more goals after the break to complete a comprehensive victory. SantAngelo struggled to cope with Pistoiese's intensity and rarely threatened the opposition goal.

Key Moments

The deadlock was broken in the 27th minute when Pistoiese striker Lorenzo Bianchi latched onto a through ball and fired low into the bottom corner. Bianchi doubled his tally in the 58th minute, converting a penalty after a foul in the box. The victory was sealed in the 74th minute when midfielder Andrea Moretti unleashed a powerful strike from 25 yards that flew into the top corner, leaving the SantAngelo goalkeeper with no chance.

SantAngelo's best chance came in the 40th minute when a free-kick from the left was met by a header that clipped the top of the crossbar. That proved to be their only real moment of danger as Pistoiese's defence remained solid throughout.

Tactical Story

Pistoiese lined up in a 4-3-3 with an emphasis on high pressing and quick transitions. Their midfield trio suffocated SantAngelo's deep-lying playmakers, forcing long balls that were easily dealt with by the Pistoiese centre-backs. SantAngelo attempted to sit deep and counter, but they were constantly overloaded on the flanks, and their defensive shape crumbled under sustained pressure.

Standout Players

Lorenzo Bianchi was the star of the show, scoring twice and leading the line with intelligence and aggression. Andrea Moretti ran the midfield, capped by a spectacular goal, while right-back Matteo Ricci was a constant attacking threat with his overlapping runs. For SantAngelo, goalkeeper Francesco De Luca made several saves to keep the score respectable, but he was left exposed by his defence.

Serie D Standings and Season Impact

The three points lift Pistoiese into the promotion-chasing pack in the Serie D standings, signaling their intent for the season. ACD SantAngelo, meanwhile, remain in the relegation zone and will need to address their defensive frailties quickly. The head-to-head record between these two now firmly favours Pistoiese, who have scored seven goals in their last two meetings.
