Piacenza produced a commanding performance to thrash Scanzorosciate 4-0 in Italian Serie D on 4 October 2026, delivering a statement result in front of their home supporters with a ruthless attacking display from start to finish.

Match Overview

Piacenza set the tone from the opening whistle, pressing aggressively and pinning Scanzorosciate deep inside their own half. The breakthrough came relatively early, and once the deadlock was broken there was little doubt about the direction of the contest.

By half-time the home side had established a comfortable cushion, and the second period was a demonstration of control rather than contest. Piacenza added further goals, rotated their squad and managed the game without ever looking threatened, sending a clear message about their ambitions this season.

Key Moments

• Opening goal: patient build-up play down the right ended with a low cross converted at the near post.
• Second goal: a long-range strike doubled the lead and visibly deflated the visitors.
• Third goal: Piacenza won the ball high up the pitch and finished clinically on the counter.
• Fourth goal: a late header from a corner completed the rout and capped a dominant team performance.

Tactical Story

Piacenza's 4-3-3 functioned exactly as intended. The wide forwards stretched Scanzorosciate's back line, the midfield three controlled the second balls, and the full-backs pushed high to sustain attacks without ever leaving the defence exposed. It was a performance built on structure as much as quality.

Scanzorosciate struggled to escape their own half for long periods. Their attempts to play out from the back were consistently disrupted by Piacenza's coordinated press, and when they did manage to break forward, a lack of support in the final third meant promising moves fizzled out.

Standout Performers

Piacenza's attacking trio were relentless, combining sharp movement with decisive finishing, while the midfield anchor screened the defence superbly and set the tempo for the entire team. The goalkeeper was largely a spectator but dealt calmly with the few crosses that came his way. For Scanzorosciate, the goalkeeper prevented an even heavier defeat with several impressive saves.

What It Means

A four-goal victory of this nature does more than add three points to the table — it strengthens belief, improves goal difference and warns rivals that Piacenza intend to be serious contenders in Serie D this season. Scanzorosciate must regroup quickly; defeats like this can drain confidence, and their next fixture now carries added importance.
