Nardò and FBC Gravina shared the points in a 1-1 draw on Sunday evening, a result that will satisfy neither side completely but reflected the balance of a competitive, end-to-end encounter in Serie D. Both teams scored in a lively opening hour before the game settled into a tense, cautious final phase.

Match Overview

• Fixture: Nardò vs FBC Gravina
• Competition: Italian Serie D
• Date: Sunday 11 October 2026, 21:00 kick-off
• Final score: Nardò 1–1 FBC Gravina

Nardò began the match on the front foot, using the width of their home ground and the support of a vocal crowd to pin Gravina back. The visitors, as they have done throughout the campaign, defended in numbers and looked to hurt their opponents on the break — a strategy that kept them in the game through the first half.

How the Goals Came

The opening goal came from exactly the kind of passage Nardò had been building towards: a patient move switched from right to left, a whipped delivery into the corridor between goalkeeper and defence, and a finish from close range. The lead was deserved on the balance of play.

Gravina's response was swift and effective. A quick turnover in midfield allowed them to attack a stretched Nardò back line, and their forward kept his composure to level the score. It was a goal that underlined the visitors' greatest strength — their ability to punish a moment of disorganisation.

Tactical Story

The second half developed into a genuine contest of styles. Nardò wanted to play through the thirds and build patiently, while Gravina were content to defend deep, press selectively and launch direct attacks. Both approaches produced half-chances, but neither goalkeeper was seriously troubled after the interval.

Fatigue played a role as the match wore on. Nardò's pressing intensity dropped noticeably in the final twenty minutes, and Gravina — who had defended for long spells — were content to see out the closing stages rather than gamble on a winner. Substitutions on both sides were used to manage the clock as much as to change the game.

Standout Performers

Nardò's most influential player was their left-sided midfielder, who combined relentlessly and provided the assist for the opening goal. In defence, the centre-back pairing dealt well with Gravina's direct play, though they were caught out once for the equaliser.

Gravina's goalscorer deserves credit for a composed finish in a difficult moment, while their central midfielders worked hard to shield the back four and slow Nardò's build-up. The goalkeeper produced a strong save late on to preserve the draw.

What It Means for the Serie D Table

A point apiece keeps both clubs moving, but the draw carries different weight for each. Nardò will feel they left two points behind at home, particularly after leading; Gravina, who had to withstand sustained pressure, will view an away point against a promotion-hunting opponent as a decent night's work.

With the Serie D season now well into its autumn rhythm, both sides will know that grinding out results in fixtures like this — rather than winning them spectacularly — is what ultimately decides who contests the promotion race and who spends the spring fighting for safety.
