Milazzo secured a convincing 3-1 home victory over ASD Digiesse PraiaTortora in Italian Serie D on Sunday night, using a fast start and a strong second-half finish to collect all three points. The home side were sharper in the attacking third and deserved the win in front of their supporters.

Match overview

Milazzo began the match on the front foot, pressing high and moving the ball quickly through midfield. Their early pressure produced two goals and gave them a cushion that allowed them to play with confidence. ASD Digiesse PraiaTortora responded before half-time, pulling one goal back and briefly threatening to make the contest more uncomfortable for the hosts.

The second half was more balanced for a period, with PraiaTortora trying to push forward in search of an equaliser. Milazzo, however, defended with greater discipline and found a decisive third goal in the closing stages. The result capped a strong home performance and left the visitors with little time to mount a late comeback.

Key moments

• 12th minute: Milazzo opened the scoring after a bright attacking move down the flank.
• 29th minute: The home side doubled their lead, taking advantage of a defensive error.
• 41st minute: ASD Digiesse PraiaTortora pulled one back before half-time.
• 74th minute: Milazzo restored their two-goal cushion and effectively sealed the win.

Tactical story

Milazzo’s aggressive pressing and wide play caused problems from the opening minutes. Their midfielders won possession quickly and fed the attackers in dangerous areas, while the full-backs provided width to stretch PraiaTortora’s defence. The home side’s ability to turn defensive recoveries into quick attacks was a key difference between the two teams.

PraiaTortora improved after their goal and had spells of possession in the second half, but they struggled to create clear chances against a compact Milazzo back line. When the visitors pushed more bodies forward, Milazzo found space to counter and scored the third goal at an ideal moment. It was a performance built on intensity, organisation and clinical finishing.

Standout performers

Milazzo’s winger was a constant outlet, creating chances and stretching the defence with direct running. The central midfielder controlled the tempo and won several important duels, while the forward line showed good movement and link-up play. PraiaTortora’s goalkeeper made a number of saves to keep the scoreline respectable, but the visitors lacked the same sharpness in the final third.

What the result means

The three points strengthen Milazzo’s position and give them important momentum in Italian Serie D. A 3-1 home win is a strong statement of intent, particularly after conceding before half-time. For ASD Digiesse PraiaTortora, the defeat highlights the need for greater defensive solidity and more cutting edge away from home. Both teams will now prepare for their next league fixtures, with Milazzo able to build on a satisfying evening and PraiaTortora looking for an immediate response.
