GSD Lascaris 1-2 Alessandria was a hard-fought Serie D Girone A encounter settled by Alessandria’s greater composure in the decisive moments. The visitors took an early lead, weathered a determined Lascaris response and found a late winner to claim an important away victory on 18 October 2026.

Match overview

Alessandria started brightly and imposed themselves on the ball, moving it quickly through midfield and asking questions of the Lascaris back line. The early breakthrough gave the visitors confidence, but Lascaris grew into the game and found an equaliser after the break. For a spell, the home side looked the more likely to score next, only for Alessandria to reassert control and strike late.

The match was competitive throughout, with both teams committing numbers forward and leaving space in behind. Alessandria’s experience and game management proved decisive in the final quarter of an hour, while Lascaris were left to rue a missed opportunity to take at least a point from a strong second-half showing.

Key moments

• 9th minute: Alessandria opened the scoring with a composed finish after a quick move through the middle.
• 51st minute: Lascaris equalised with a driven effort from the edge of the box that lifted the home crowd.
• 66th minute: Lascaris had a chance to take the lead but could not convert from a promising set piece.
• 79th minute: Alessandria’s late winner arrived from a wide cross, headed home at the back post.

Tactical story

Alessandria used a patient build-up to draw Lascaris out of their defensive block, then looked to release their wide players into one-on-one situations. Lascaris responded with a more direct approach after the interval, pressing higher and forcing turnovers in midfield. That change brought them back into the game, but it also left them exposed to Alessandria’s late counters.

The winning goal highlighted the difference in execution. Alessandria stayed calm during a period of Lascaris pressure, kept their shape and attacked with purpose when the chance arrived. Lascaris, who had defended with energy for much of the match, could not recover in time to prevent the back-post header.

Standout performers

Alessandria’s midfield captain dictated the tempo and helped his side regain control after the equaliser. Their right winger was a constant outlet, while the centre-back who defended the late aerial barrage stood firm. Lascaris’s goalkeeper kept them in the contest with two important saves, and their central midfielder drove the second-half comeback attempt with relentless running.

What it means

The win keeps Alessandria in the promotion conversation and underlines their ability to grind out results away from home. For GSD Lascaris, the performance offered encouragement but not the points they wanted. In a Serie D season where fine margins shape the table, conceding late is a difficult way to drop out of the contest.
